VARPALOTA TRAINING AREA, Hungary - Saker Falcon is a multinational training exercise involving roughly 200 Soldiers from U.S. Army Europe's 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, two Dutch Air Assault battalions, and Hungarian military forces. The objectives of the training include enhancing joint combined interoperability with allied and partner nations and preparing participants to operate in a joint, multinational, integrated environment with support from Hungarian governmental agencies. VHF, UHF and microwave antennas for public safety voice communications and mobile data terminals (MDT).
Radio Center houses transmitters and repeaters for the City of Rochester and Monroe County, NY Police, Fire, EMS and other public safety agencies. It is located on Cobbs Hill (640 ft above sea level).
City Police, County Sheriff and town PDs are using about 30 P25 digital UHF channels.
City and County Fire using VHF, County EMS is VHF.
No 9-1-1 dispatching is done from this location, it is a primary transmitter site and radio installation/repair shop only.
NY State Troopers, NY Dept of Environmental Conservation (law enforcement division), medical examiners, probation and state university police have access to this system for interoperability.

YAVORIV, Ukraine -- Ukrainian paratroopers wait for helicopters July 9 to make a training jump during Exercise Rapid Trident. Rapid Trident 2013 is a U.S. Army Europe-led, multinational field training and command post exercise occurring at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center in Yavoriv, Ukraine July 8-19 that involves approximately 1,300 troops from 17 nations. The objectives of the training include enhancing joint combined interoperability with allied and partner nations and preparing participants to operate in a joint, multinational, integrated environment with support from Hungarian governmental agencies. Saker Falcon, underway from April 3 through April 17, reinforces U.S. Army Europe's strategic objectives to increase regional flexibility, preserve and enhance NATO interoperability, and facilitate multinational training.
