A small college town in southwest Florida was planned with this large Oratory church in the center. The facade of the building displays sculptor Márton Váró's 30-foot-tall (9 m) sculpture of the Annunciation, depicting the Archangel Gabriel greeting the Virgin Mary with the words "Ave Maria" (Hail Mary). Váró's "Good Shepherd" sculpture is also featured inside the Oratory, also carved in marble from Cave Michelangelo in Carrara, Italy.

This Oratory serves as the home of the Roman Catholic Quasi-parish of Ave Maria Oratory, part of the Diocese of Venice, which serves as the parish for the university and the local residents. One of the oratory's most distinctive characteristics is its steel structure, much of which is exposed internally and externally.

The landmark church received an architectural award from the American Institute of Steel Construction in 2008. Tom Monaghan, Ave Maria founder, has had a significant interest in architecture for more than 50 years and has been one of the world's largest collectors of the works and memorabilia of Frank Lloyd Wright. He drew the oratory's first sketches himself on a tablecloth and then Cannon Design, a Grand Island, N.Y.-based architecture firm, took it from there.

This massive chapel to date is the largest concrete pour in Florida and stands out as the largest structure in the town of Ave Maria. The project is the architectural design of Harry L. Warren, AIA, of Cannon Design, Grand Island, NY. Original plans for this church called for a 185-foot-tall building with 3,300 seats. Due to rising costs, the structure was reduced to 104 feet with 1,100 seats and an overall size of 25,755 square feet.

The elements of the piece are similar to those in Internal 9 except that it uses paint rather than colored paper.

The porridge is semolina, similar to cream of wheat. (known as manaya kasha in Eastern European areas) This is a play on my name, Masha. As there are many folk tales that draw associations between the name Masha and the traditional porridge. I have recently become more interested in exploring my native culture and this is a little homage to it. Hope you enjoy!

One of the very first mills to launch the Industrial Revolution in Britain, Gisbon's Mill stands in a countryside location in Hebden Dale, beside Hebden Water. The mill stands within the wooded valley known as Hardcastle Crags.

The mill, also known as Lord Holme Mill, was built about 1800 to produce cloth from cotton. The mill was driven by an internal water wheel, taking advantage of the tumbling force of Hedben Water. The mill is known to have employed 21 workers in 1833, and each employee was expected to work 72 hours per week!

The mill ceased operation in 1890, and was used as an entertainment centre by local inhabitants, who installed a cinema, dance hall, and roller skating rink, among other facilities. The mill was largely derelict following WWII, but has now been restored.

Here is a sneak peek at the internals of individual sub-assemblies that make up the Monument model.

The round base consists of 12 segments (4 pairs of 3 individual segments). In order to maximize the number of segments while keeping a relatively small diameter all segments are orthogonal instead of isosceles triangles. They are connected in a way that the longer side adjacent to the right angle is tangent to the internal (virtual) circle in the middle.

I came up with this idea when I overheard an old lady tell my mom she's been having "internal summers" and this clearly is not what she was talking about but I thought it sounded very poetic.

It was getting dark and I was shooting the 100-400 handheld but as I was heading back for a tripod, one last lightning blast lit up the sky. So while the full moonrise was obstructed by clouds, the lightshow still fully lived up to expectations at White Sands National Monument near Alamogordo, NM.

A customer wanted to modernize his WWII Mauser. So we did just that, we kept the same internals bu gave it a whole new body, added holographic front sight, and standard rear sight. The grip features indents where th fingers can rest comfortably. We added a muzzle brake to help reduce the felt recoil to further increase operator comfort.

Last weekend, Dustin and I did a maternity studio shoot with Hadley and her husband Michael. Fortunately, she's a doctor, so she had some great props to work with.
