Reitores das três universidades que sediaram o congresso e autoridades participam de mesa na cerimônia de abertura do Intercom 2007.

Entre os dias 29 de agosto e 02 de setembro de 2007, a cidade de Santos foi a capital nacional da comunicação. O XXX Congresso Brasileiro de Ciências da Comunicação (Intercom) reuniu milhares de estudantes e pesquisadores da área nas Universidades Santa Cecília (UNISANTA), Católica de Santos (UNISANTOS) e o Centro Universitário Monte Serrat (UNIMONTE). O evento, realizado pela terceira vez na Cidade, contou com palestras, debates, oficinas e workshops, exposições de trabalhos e estandes de venda de livros.
