“The Interact Center visual art’s department presents Creature Faces & Fantasy Places, a collection of new work by eleven visual artists. Creature Faces & Fantasy Places explores the realm of fantasy, magic, and science fiction-inspired abstraction. Through subject matter ranging from a tiny sprite perched on a brightly-colored bee, to a grim tableau of skeletal World War I soldiers on the battlefield, to a perspective-defying example of 4th dimension architecture, all of the work is tied together by the artist’s desire to explore the unknown and the fantastical.”
Octalight is an octagon shape interactive light lantern.
There are two different coloured light displays at the top and bottom on each side of the octagon shape.
The lights on the top half of the octagon shape are activated in sequence from one side of the octagon shape in clockwise manner.
While the lights on the bottom half of the octagon shape are activated in sequence counter-clockwise.
The hand covering the top of the light sensor triggers the light streams. When activated, the top and bottom light stream will be lighted in tandem in clockwise and counterclockwise manner.

In this interactive session with game designer and play researcher Konstantin Mitgutsch, participants will use their phones to collaboratively create a new planet, experiencing firsthand the power of cooperation and creativity. Through this fun and challenging experiment, we will discover how reimagining life as a more cooperative and fair game can reignite our sense of agency and hope. The talk concludes with a reflection on the game-life analogy and a call to action, urging participants to rethink the “games” they play in life and work toward a fairer, more hopeful world.
