We woke up at 5:00 this morning to go downtown and watch the implosion of the half-finished Intel building. Intel stopped construction in 2001 shortly after the dot-bust. It is the future site of a federal building of some kind (courthouse?), which required the demoltion of the building to fill in the underground parking. Apparently underground parking isn't allowed in federal buildings due to security concerns. This is all stuff that came up at the "implosion party," so don't take it as rock-solid fact. Austin, TX.
