A recent shoot involving some 'creative shots of instruments'...
I decided to tackle this by setting up a gig in a library!

I read about this place on Trip Adviser - it was the top rated attraction in Phoenix - and now we can see why! The museum is dedicated to musical instruments from around the world - the collection is fascinating, the exhibits are great and the hands-on displays were fun. We spent almost 5 hours here and still felt rushed - this place is definitely worth a detour.
I know nothing about musical instruments so if you happen to know what a particular instrument is, please feel free to comment on it. I tried to include as many labels as possible.
The museum is in Phoenix, AZ - we visited it in March 2014.

Concerts in the Park.
It is a well-known fact that England is a land of traditions and proudly so!
Due to the faster pace and changes in the current times, many are finding it harder to keep going. Society is changing more rapidly than ever.
So it was extremely pleasant, last summer, to discover that in the many parks, in and around the city where we live, every Sunday afternoon, brass bands were to give concerts!
...but it was rather melancholic to hear that oooh so specific sound and the old sweet tunes floating through the leaves as the rains started, people sought refuge inside the small caf, while quite a few listeners brought out their raincoats and umbrellas, and stoically stayed put, like the band, who kept on playing!
I've written a blog , this time about the Brass bands, it's not published yet, but above some excerpts.
This was the Tuba section, during a short break, new sheets of music, drying out the instruments, he had put it upside down. he put a protective hand on it, just like you do with a child, a caress for loved one, pat a pet...
The image fits in with another blog about the importance of hands in portrait photography.

N754’s instrument panel incorporated several features to ease the burden of the pilot, who had to fly the aircraft AND count birds. One such feature was a set of engine warning lights that was placed near eye level atop the panel on the pilot side. The pilot would likely see a bright, flashing warning light even if his attention was diverted while counting birds.

Incidents of Coronavirus (Apr 2021) have fallen quite rapidly but into March were steady or rising a bit in certain parts of England. Vaccination was going well but a shortfall in production across Europe is causing a slowdown in innoculation, and there are conflicts with the EU over supply and in the country over the possible side-effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Schools have opened and there are dates given for later stages of opening up. Since the March 2020 lock-down for Covid I have taken the opportunity to upload shots from before September 2010. In-between contemporary shots, I am uploading photos pre-SPNC, from the days of my old Olympus E-1/E-330/420. Not many are any good but the exercise has given me an opportunity to look back. One thing that has struck me is how limiting the effect of noise was when trying to take (very early) street shots at ISO 800 in relatively dark conditions. I still used zoom lenses quite a lot until SPNC and am glad to have been educated in the use of a wider angle lens.
