Wilco - Wilco (The Album)

caminando despacito,
por senderos que te elevan
y te permiten volver
la mirada hacia atrás
a esos bellos rincones
donde el agua se ensimisma
y tú descubres que allí
se forma una laguna
que agrada cuando la ves
desde el lugar que tu llegas.
Qué poco cuesta mirar
cuando te sientes arriba
y disfrutas el cansancio
de esa larga caminata
que hasta arriba te ha llevado.
Déjame que ya respire,
que mirando estos lugares
descubro que hasta el agua
para mirar se detiene.

First the tide rushes in
Plants a kiss on the shore
Then rolls out to sea
And the sea is very still once more
So I rush to your side
Like the oncoming tide
With one burning thought
Will your arms open wide
At last we're face to face
And as we kiss through an embrace
I can tell, I, I can feel
You are love, you are real
Really mine in the rain
In the dark, in the sun
Like the tide at its ebb
I'm at peace in the web of your arms
Ebb tide

This is my neighborhood pier. I like to visit it early in the morning, especially in winter because there are often dolphins playing in the water. I used to take my daughter before school when she was a little kiddo.
it was a hard frost a few Sunday's ago when I went early morning volunteering. Everything was laced in ice and looked magical. This delicate fern frond caught my eye as I walked slowly through the frost gripped valley. Fawn is a beautiful instrumental by Tom Waits.

Jeff was instrumental in helping me replace the floor in my shed.
He also holds degrees in computers and networking.
Jeff says that "the best computer people are the ones you never hear about, because they keep things running smoothly at all times." Thank you, Jeff!

A view of the east side of the Carlinville square, part of the Carlinville Historic District added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. In the background is the Macoupin County "Million Dollar Courthouse," and in the lower right is the haunted, four story Loomis House. Both the courthouse and Loomis House were featured earlier in this series, as was the "Cannonball Jail" seen across from the courthouse on the right edge.
Carlinville is named for Thomas Carlin, seventh governor of Illinois, who as a member of the state legislature was instrumental in creating Macoupin County.
Carlinville is the seat of Macoupin County in south central Illinois. At the 2020 census, the population of Carlinville was 5,710.

From Nowhere to Fame.

House sparrows are one of my favourite birds and the one I grew up with in the soot laden streets of Leeds.
This bird was instrumental in beginning my life long love of wildlife.
Today we can see them in their full finery and really appreciate these so often taken for granted little birds.

With immeasurable sense of loss, sadness and regret, I have to record the passing of my dear Mother.
She was in hospital in Budapest since just after Christmas, where one crisis followed another. Eventually, she gave up the fight and died in her sleep earlier today.
The picture above was taken in happier times (on my birthday), just over four and a half years ago. She was then 85 year old and we just returned from a very pleasant holiday.
Alas, at the end of that year she lost her sight and since then her life was a continuum of untold misery.
In truth, most of her life was punctuated by a series of tragedies and difficulties. Whilst she was instrumental in my ending up in London, and in spite of my many frequent visits, it was our living far apart that she regretted most.
Equally, the few highlights of the past two decades were the holidays and travels we undertook together.
I will miss her a lot.
I only knew Candy Dulfer’s instrumental version, still prefer it to the heartbreakers by Luther van Dross and Dionne Warwick. Alternate Titles: Broken Home. Space Available. Open. Hollow. Pillars of the Community.
Both of these monochrome scenes benefit from overprocessing the colors, after conversion to B&W.

Piano Through Glass!
This is SOOC with no cropping or software modification whatsoever. I considered cropping the right side of the image where the power outlet is but decided that maintaining the reflection continuity of the trees, lights and buildings off of the painting on the wall was more definitive.
This piano is on display for sale in a store in Winter Park, Fl. The shot was taken from the outside through the glass window showing the reflection of the building behind me and across the street. It's also showing trees and shrubs on the other side of the street as well as sunlight reflections shining directly off of the piano..
