René (stranger 80)
I was allowed to take a walk “Poetry along the Schie” where we walked along all kinds of poems on, on or near the bridges over the Schie. One of the people who participates in the project is René. He has lived in the Spangen district in Rotterdam for years and has always opposed the deterioration of the district. Together with others he has taken the initiative to place art in the neighborhood in order to beautify the neighborhood. He succeeded, there are now many memorial plaques in the district. There are even lines of poetry between the tram rails and on the roofs of the Mathenesserdijk. The deterioration has disappeared and the residents are proud of their neighborhood again. René is very enthusiastic and proudly shows all kinds of art. In this photo he reads a poem written by himself.
This is the 80th photo of my second round of the # 100stangers project.

Debbie (# stranger50).
Debbie is studying Food Commerce and Technology and is doing an internship at the distillery "Onder de Boompjes" where she helps with the development of old and new genever and gin. I met her during an Instawalk in Schiedam. In the distillery with black walls the sunlight fell beautifully through the high windows. Nice light to take a picture. She wanted to pose immediately. She said that she is often asked to pose. The result was that many photographers in the group also wanted to make a photo of her.

About 6 years ago I moved from a smaller city to Rotterdam (NL). To be honest, I really didn't like Rotterdam (NL) all that much when I first moved here. A few twists and turns in my life and I ended up living in the second largest city in the Netherlands and one of the largest ports in the world. After a few years I really started to embrace this city. It's architecture, culture, riverside setting, food markets and events make this truly a metropolis.
This particular image was taken on the Rijnhavenbrug (Katendrecht) with a view of Parkkade and the Euromast.
Besides my portraits, headshots & beauty photography/retouching, I love taking pictures I can use as backgrounds for my image composites. I hope you enjoy the city, atmosphere, and sunset as much as I did.
I'd love to hear all about your favourite city or metropolis!
Some places can make your thoughts drift away on memories that will smile upon you for years to come. All the joy, all the tears, all the grief, and all the laughter will shape our memories and alter our view of our world. We make our own destiny and we choose our own happiness.
Ed (# stranger53).
Last Saturday I was allowed to participate in a walk organized by Rotterdam Info, an instameet, by the Rotterdam Makers district. An area with all new companies. We also visited the #Ferro Dome, an old gas holder in the industrial locations at the Keilehaven in Rotterdam, which is being converted into an event location. Ed is the manager there and has the keys to the site. Ed is very proud of the beautiful and artistic grafity that was created there. He wanted to pose immediately.
