Our book is here! Jen Altman, Susannah Conway and I wrote a book in 2011. It arrived on our doorsteps today. We are all super excited and happy with it- it's been our baby for the past year and a half so it's so great to finally be at this day.

Primero que todo, que difícil es armar un tarantín en casa ajena, creo que si hubiese estado en mi casa la foto hubiera quedado muuucho mejor. Segundo, para mi, el tema mas difícil del curso, como me costo eso de reflejar la luz y la verdad no estoy satisfecha con estas fotos porque siento que tienen sombras que no me cuadran.
Ahora a la parte alegre, elegi hacer mi still life con la consentida de la casa, mi instantánea, mi esposo y yo estamos enamorados de esta camarita y es que para nosotros es como magia cada vez que tomamos una foto con ella, eso de verla revelada al instante es una de las cosas mas emocionantes que hay en el mundo. El libro me lo recomendó Carmen Moreno y vale cada $ que me costo, no tiene perdida; y la foto instantánea es una de mis favoritas, la capture en un pueblito de Irlanda, y esos son los tulipanes mas grandes y hermosos que he visto en toda mi vida :)

From our Instant Love workshop in Marrakesh. If you ever get the chance to stay at Peacock Pavilions, do it. Maryam and Chris are the most wonderful hosts. We had an amazing time!
Maryam Montague is the style queen behind Peacock Pavilions. Her eye is amazing and every corner of this place is showered with classy, gorgeous details. This was my favourite room in the pavilion I stayed in. If you ever get the chance to stay there, you must!

Another self-portrait to achieve the goal of at leafs one self-portrait per month.
I also run a design business, called Menina Lisboa, and one of my products are pillows, which are featured here. I wanted to make a few photos of me on the bed with the pillows. And took the chance of featuring one of my favourite books... Instant Love! And I still haven't bought my Polaroid camera... bo-oooh for me!
I feel as though I'm a bit all over the place with this project so far. There is no flow with the style I'm shooting these self-portraits in, at least not the kind of cohesive look I'd like to have, but I couldn't help but use this shot for my 7th week. I finally got my "new" Polaroid Automatic 103 land camera working (blogged!) and this was one of the first shots I took on it. I'm still getting used to the camera and it's quirks (see: always underexposing), but I'm really happy it's working at all!

this is me, just a few minutes ago, wearing the scarf that leslie JUST made for me with wool dyed by jamie based on a photograph i took, with some fabulous lunatic fringe added. i adore it!
