āDe Piepermolenā te Rekken
De Piepermolen (of Molen van Pieper) is een windmolen aan de Rekkenseweg in Rekken, in de Gelderse gemeente Berkelland. Deze stenen beltmolen is gebouwd in 1796. Nadat in 1940 het wiekenkruis tijdens een storm van de molen brak, is de romp gedurende dertig jaar in een steeds meer vervallen staat geraakt. In 1970 werd de Piepermolen echter gerestaureerd, waarbij delen van onttakelde en gesloopte molens werden gebruikt. De naam ontleent de molen aan de familienaam van de eigenaars tussen 1907 en 1965.
De vorm van de Piepermolen is bijzonder: de onderste twee meter is cilindrisch, waarna het verloop naar boven toe sterk getailleerd conisch is opgemetseld. Het gevlucht is Oudhollands en de molen is ingericht met twee koppel maalstenen, waarmee op vrijwillige basis veevoer wordt gemalen.

The Piepermolen (or Molen van Pieper) is a windmill on the Rekkenseweg in Rekken, in the Gelderland municipality of Berkelland. This stone belt mill was built in 1796. After the blade cross broke off the mill during a storm in 1940, the hull has fallen into an increasingly dilapidated state for thirty years. In 1970, however, the Piepermolen was restored, using parts of dismantled and demolished mills. The name derives from the family name of the owners between 1907 and 1965.
The shape of the Piepermolen is special: the bottom two meters are cylindrical, after which the course towards the top is strongly tapered and conical. The refuge is Old Dutch and the mill is equipped with two pairs of grinding stones, which are used to grind animal feed on a voluntary basis.

"Buitenmolen"te Zevenaar The Netherlands
Tot 1866 bleef de molen in beheer als domeingoed (bezit van de landsheer). In dat jaar werd de molen verkocht aan de toenmalige pachter Jac. van Grinten. Diens erven verkochten het in 1879 aan de molenaarsknecht Johannes Gerritsen.
Toen Gerritsen eind 1928 overging op elektrisch malen, leek het met de Buitenmolen gedaan: op 21 november dat jaar zette hij beide roeden te koop. Omstreeks 1930 werden roeden en staart afgenomen en de romp leeggehaald: zo werd de molen een motormaalderij.
Nadat deze in 1955 was stilgelegd, bleef de romp, met daarop een - lege- kap, gespaard. In 1958 werd de molen verkocht aan F.Th. Korthaus, die op zijn beurt de molen in 1966 verkocht aan de gemeente Zevenaar.
In 1969 en 1970 werd de molen gereconstrueerd. Gekozen werd toen voor een echte houten as, evenwel met ijzeren roeden. Beide roeden kregen Oud-Hollandse ophekking met zeilen.
Na ruim 30 jaar, 2002, heeft men bovenas, roeden en voorkeuvelens vervangen.
In de praktijk draait deze molen vrijwel dagelijks.
Technische bijzonderheden:
Het kruiwerk van deze molen is opvallend: het wordt via tandkransen en gaffelwielen bediend. Met de hand betekent Ć©Ć©n meter touw inpalmen dat de kap Ć©Ć©n centimeter verschuift. Niet onlogisch heeft men daarom op een zeker moment een elektromotor gemonteerd! Kettingkruien (vanaf de belt, d.m.v. een rondgaande ketting) is evenwel ook mogelijk.

Until 1866 the mill remained managed as a domaine (owned by the lord). In that year the mill was sold to the then tenant Jac. van Grinten. His heirs sold it in 1879 to the miller's servant Johannes Gerritsen.
When Gerritsen switched to electric milling at the end of 1928, the Buitenmolen seemed to be over: on November 21 that year he put both rods up for sale. Around 1930, the rods and tail were removed and the hull was emptied: the mill became a motor mill.
After it was shut down in 1955, the hull, with an empty hood on top, was spared. In 1958 the mill was sold to F.Th. Korthaus, who in turn sold the mill to the municipality of Zevenaar in 1966.
The mill was reconstructed in 1969 and 1970. A real wooden axle was then chosen, but with iron rods. Both rods were fitted with old Dutch fencing with sails.
After more than 30 years, in 2002, the top axle, rods and front gate lens were replaced.
In practice, this mill runs almost every day.
Technical details:
The wheel gear of this mill is striking: it is operated via gear rings and clevis wheels. By hand, using one meter of rope means that the hood shifts one centimeter. It is therefore not illogical that an electric motor was installed at a certain point! Chain crossing (from the belt, by means of a rotating chain) is also possible.

Van verre is āGerritzens MĆ¼hleā in Elten een onmiskenbaar baken in het landschap. De molen is vernoemd naar de in deze streek bekende molenaarsfamilie Gerritzen. Een van de broers is bijvoorbeeld molenaar in Zeddam geweest. De familie is in 1846 met de bouw van de Eltense molen begonnen. In juli 1991 werd de molen na een grondige restauratie weer feestelijk in gebruik genomen. In Duitsland noemen ze dit type molen āHollƤndermĆ¼hleā. De molen ligt op de oude weg van Stokkum naar Elten. Vroeger was dit een zeer belangrijke route. Omdat ze zelf nog geen kerk hadden, gingen de inwoners van Stokkum namelijk in Elten naar de kerk.

From afar, 'Gerritzens MĆ¼hle' in Elten is an unmistakable beacon in the landscape. The mill is named after the Gerritzen miller family known in this region. For example, one of the brothers was a miller in Zeddam. The family started building the Eltense mill in 1846. In July 1991, the mill was festively put back into use after a thorough restoration. In Germany they call this type of mill 'HollƤndermĆ¼hle'. The mill is located on the old road from Stokkum to Elten. This used to be a very important route. Because they did not yet have a church themselves, the residents of Stokkum went to church in Elten.

TĆpic lloc que veus a Instagram i lāapuntes, aixĆ que quan vaig estar a prop de la zona, vaig anar expressament al lloc a fer la foto, Ć©s una zona residencial amb unes cases adossades molt maques, jardins i aquest llac. La idea que tenia al cap per aixĆ² era amb un aigua tranquilĀ·la poder fer un reflex perfecte. En arribar a lloc feia bastant de vent amb lāaigua molt moguda, el dia no tenia un cel maco, tampoc, aixĆ que cal improvisar i has de jugar amb el que tens, vaig pensar que tal com tenia el cel i lāaigua la millor opciĆ³ era fer una llarga exposiciĆ³ per allisar els nĆŗvols i lāaigua, en aquest cas vaig fer servir el polaritzador, perĆ² a la inversa del que Ć©s habitual, ja que buscava el mĆ xim reflex per aconseguir la semblanƧa mĆ©s gran de color del cel i aigua amb la idea de fer una foto molt minimalista on tinguem el color de les cases com a gran protagonisme i res mĆ©s a la foto.

New beach Petten. This beach was man-made 6 years ago. Bicycle tour Aug. 15. Dit strand bij Petten is 6 jaar geleden opgespoten met zand uit de Noordzee en ligt voor de Hondsbossche Zeewering. De oude dijk is grotendeels aan het zicht onttrokken door een duinenrij met daarvoor een strand. Still life "In Grandpa's barn" - to me this photo symbolises life at Goeree-Overflakkee. The pure simplicity, the somewhat sober colours, the close-knit community on an island. It also shows how close the older generation are to nature and basic life. It's maybe that what makes the people at Goeree-Overflakkee special, you just have to learn to see where the real beauty lies.

I found this on the table in Grandpa's shed, artfully viewed you see the classical painting style such as the still lifes of the "Hollandsche Meesters". It was irresistible to photograph this one quickly, to see how close I could get to a "Dutch Master" still life in Grandpa's barn.
