Copper rich stream water trace, mountain runoff, granite fragments, grass, sheep ordure and wool tendrils.

How do I do this??

Minute amounts of water, windfall samples - organic and mineral - are collected from the very landscape depicted within each picture - and chemically bonded with the film over 12 months.

.

The result:

A nature-disrupted film process that creates unedited images that are inbetween a classic photograph and a totally abstract image, depicting the interaction between fundamental chemical elements present at each place & time, representing a more visceral and literal experience of being present in landscapes in a constant state of natural or unnatural flux.

(2019) Who are You?

I have much thoughts after seeing some protesters in Hong Kong waving flags of the United Kingdom during the mid June protests in Hong Kong against an extradition bill.

I am Taiwanese, my grandparents lived their youth under Japanese rule, and my grandfather was one of foot soldiers sent to front-line China during WWII.

They love Japanese culture all their long lives, speak fluent Japanese, and have undying wish to be Japanese.

As a citizen of both Hong Kong and Taiwan,

a simple question to myself and people from Hong Kong and Taiwan:

Who are you?

I know my answer.

(2019) All Seeing Ai / 愛

Hanging out at a Starbucks and listened to a Youtube clip about 5G and the foreseeable future of AI, ended up doodling an alternate design of the all seeing eye, encasing in a heart and all seeing with love.

Added some electricity also for a funny meme in Taiwan, “let’s generate electricity with love!” (用愛發電!❤️⚡️)

Funny thing is after I was done, I found out that I unwittingly left a print of the art on the coffee table, thus took some pictures to share here. Sorry, Starbucks.
