Taken exactly a year ago while trying out my EOSM mirror backup camera. Funny not to be living next to these falls now, seem like a distant memory when I would pop down every week to see how they were doing.
Caption of my Insta-Post from 3 weeks ago: Tomorrow the Silk Road Mountain Race will start in Osh, Kyrgyzstan.
It's the seventh edition of the race and the 1st participation for me. But in a sense - it's almost a new first edition for everyone.
As there are more than 700 km of new remote and wild terrain.
I'll second Nelson and, too, think there still isn’t really any other event quite like the Silk Road Mountain Race: none that takes riders through quite such remote, isolated and potentially harsh mountain environments, where every turn uncovers another stunning landscape on this scale.
Sitting here in Osh the apprehension is certainly rising. It's on a level I haven't had in years and that may say a lot. Hoping for a great adventure and as smooth sailing as you can expect in this setting.
