Inspired by Pissaro’s painting ‘The Effect of Fog’, I took this shot while walking along the Schuykill river in Philadelphia one morning. I first thought this shot would yield a black and white image, but then changed my mind. I used my Nikon D750 and 135 mm Ai f2.8 at f5.6 for capture and Lightroom for processing.

The twice a week Crestwood Drill passes by the cemetery at Phoenix Street in Duryea, one of the many locations along the RBMN that photographers seem to love.
On this day the train took a GP38-2 pair to take their 8 car train up to Penobscot. The 2017 has just been repainted into the Reading Company-inspired paint scheme the RBMN uses on their GP series locomotives.
The "Crestwood Drill" is a personal favorite of mine to chase because of the scenery it heads through. Heading down the Lehigh Valley's Mountain cutoff until Laurel Run and onto the CNJ from there, this line is full of scenic locations.

Inspired by a Todd Novak photo taken earlier this year (flic.kr/p/2nQqWhh8) I put the bird up at Rollins for a southbound Minntac load storming out of Brimson after an extensive delay.
This area of the Minnesota Northwoods had just received nearly three feet of new snow in a 48 hour period.
A Bank Holiday Monday Kingmoor TMD - Sellafield North Siding loaded aggregate working, running as 6Z19, approaches Millom's Haverigg Road crossing behind 68017, an hour ahead of schedule, meaning sun not quite on the nose.
The observant can't fail to have noticed that I've kicked the ar5e out of these workings. They've made a welcome change around the coast, both before and after the tunnel closure at Bransty.
My main reason for majoring on these trains is to maximise experience with the pole set-up, enabling efficiency when photting workings less repeatable than these.
Unfortunately, wind speed today was much higher than forecast, meaning only three of five pole sections could be used.
One thing I hadn't noticed before today is that since the tunnel closure forced these trains to work south from Drigg via Carnforth, the consists have increased from 10 to 12 wagons.
