The Cathedral peak is my favourite peak in the Drakensberg The distinctive shape stands out and can be seen from almost anywhere in the Drakensberg. It is a 3,004 m high free standing mountain and can be hiked in a day. It is a rocky scramble up, but at the top you can look down into the Cathedral Valley on one side and the Mnweni Valley on the other side.

Embark on a visual journey of adventure and self-discovery with "Path to Ascend," a captivating black and white pen illustration that depicts a winding path leading up to the majestic Cathedral peak mountain. This artwork invites you to embrace the spirit of exploration and embark on a metaphorical climb towards personal growth and achievement.

Crafted with intricate pen strokes, every line in this illustration symbolizes the challenges, perseverance, and determination encountered on the path to success. The stark contrast of black and white adds depth and intensity to the composition, emphasizing the transformative nature of the mountain journey.

Display "Path to Ascend" in your home or office, and let it serve as a visual reminder to pursue your dreams, overcome obstacles, and reach new heights. Whether you resonate with the theme of personal growth, seek inspiration for your own journey, or appreciate the timeless beauty of black and white art, this illustration is a captivating addition to any space.

FOREVER YOUNG - ALPHAVILLE

My very best wishes for autumn weekend to all of you!

Japanese maple trees add grace and beauty through the seasons. While the Bloodgood Japanese maple is a tried-and-true specimen, consider some of our favorite varieties, including dwarf Japanese maple, that feature a spectacle of vibrant leaf color.

Ornamental flower beds of colorful spring flowers - different species of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils. A beauty created by the human hands in union with nature.

Flower Power is Keukenhof’s 2019 theme. Flowers inspire. At Keukenhof flowers connect people from across the globe who come together to enjoy the tulips, smells and colours. The Netherlands is famous for its bulb fields and the many flowers cultivated there.

*/ nailing down crosses on the mountain of forgetfulness/ my interpretation of the third act of the opera in which the Gaucho places the cross.

The opera was written by Carlos Naveda and produced by Hector Bolinger. It was presented to the public in 1972, once only and never played again.

p.s. on a not of interest, I own the 16 mm, film with sound which is the inspiration for the scene above; could not find anything on You-tube, perhaps it is listed under a other title ?!?

Second phase of painting...i haven't finished yet as could do with making it darker and more depth, it doesn't look as dark in real life I contrasted it to see where I should go next!

It's ok I thought I'd completely messed it up at the beginning of starting the second layer then I tealised you can't really mess up an oil painting It's easy!

It's definitely having a third layer this one though.

More next week!

Series 'Hidden Worlds' is all about to reveal invisible nature's worlds for the naked eye (unassisted vision, without a telescope, microscope, or other device) of the people passing by the beauty of nature in daily life. This series project sill ongoing and developing. Series of images have been photographed with macro lens 60 mm at very shallow depth of fields and selective focus to create a dreamy veil.
