Shot for Iron Photographer 109 project. This time, the components of the photo are: a self portrait, a box and "OMG blur". Crazy as usual - the OMG blur is really awesome. You should check out what the other members came up with here. I'm looking forward to trying some more shots for this project.

On the Southeast portal there is a fresco, dating 15th century, representing Saint Mary sitting on a throne with Jesus in her arms, surrounded by angels and Saint Ecaterina and Barbara.
In questo scatto ho voluto racchiudere tre delle mie più grandi passioni.
1- Leggere. Chi mi conosce sa quanto ami perdermi tra mondi fantastici ed amori impossibili
2- La musica. Non potrei mai andare in giro senza il mio i-pod: non c'è niente di meglio che costruirsi la colonna sonora della propria vita!
3- La fotografia. La Canon è nuova, ma la passione c'è sempre stata.
PS: Non avevo una penna abbastanza bella, altrimenti l'avrei messa in modo da rappresentare lo Scrivere :)

2-Music. I couldn't go out without my ipod as music is a part of who I am and gives me reasons to feel better everyday
3-Photography. I've just bought my new camera but I've always love taking pictures!
PS: I would have added a pen, which represents how much I enjoy writing, but I didn't have a pretty one :)

O Mercado Municipal de São Paulo, inaugurado em 1933, é um importante entreposto comercial de atacado e varejo, especializado na comercialização de frutas, verduras, cereais, carnes, temperos e outros produtos alimentícios. O Mercado localiza-se no centro antigo da Capital Paulista, sobre uma área ganha ao Rio Tamanduateí, na Várzea do Carmo.
O edifício, em estilo eclético, foi construído entre 1928 e 1933 pelo escritório do renomado arquiteto Francisco de Paula Ramos de Azevedo, sendo o desenho das fachadas de Felisberto Ranzini. No interior, magníficos vitrais de Conrado Sorgenicht Filho mostram vários aspectos da produção de alimentos.
O entreposto foi totalmente reformado em 2004, na administração da prefeita Marta Suplicy. A fachada foi recuperada, os vitrais foram restaurados e foi construído um mezanino, de autoria do arquiteto Pedro Paulo de Mello Saraiva, com diversos quiosques de comes e bebes. Graças à reforma, o Mercado é hoje um ponto de encontro dos paulistanos. Atualmente está sendo construído um estacionamento subterrâneo para facilitar o acesso dos visitantes.

i bought this plain white paper lamp from ikea for something like 2,5 euro.
I used watercolours to paint it, then i found this little basket that had fake flowers in it, used yellow thread to hang it from the lamp, printed a boy and a girl and put them inside the basket!!
Last night at the photography club, I won the year contest with a slightly edited version of this picture: flic.kr/p/cA46Gh. I was very surprised and did not expect it at all, since I am only a member of the club for a year now, and consider myself more a beginner than an experienced amateur photographer.
Of course, I am very pleased with the prize, but looking at my predecessors since 1985 on the floating trophy and the work that they produce, I also become a bit worried. How on earth will I be able to meet the expectations that come with the prize, as a relative newcomer?
Someone at the club said yesterday suggested a continuation of the humour in my pictures. I certainly will try. And then especially in combination with odd or impossible situations. Like this shot.

Interior de la Biblioteca de los Depósitos del Sol de Albacete, construida en el interior de lo que antaño fue un depósito de agua cuyo cometido era abastecer las necesidades hídricas de la ciudad. Hoy es una biblioteca que satisface la demanda de lectura de los ciudadanos.

Good morning. Because of the interest and dialogue centered around coffee from the last coffee bean photo posted I thought I would create a short, but informative series centered on what is many people's favorite beverage. The series will be more about the information and commentary than the photos, but I hope you enjoy the images also.
This first installment will center on the bean itself as understanding the complex world of coffee is a little like trying to understand wine...very intimidating to some. But you don't have to be an aficionado to brew great coffee at home. You just need to pay attention to a few details...starting with the beans.
There are only two kinds of coffee beans: "robusta and "arabica". Robusta is less expensive to produce and is used primarily in canned and instant coffee. It contains twice as much caffeine as arabica and is generally harsh in flavor. The majority of the world's coffee is arabica. It's definitely superior to robusta, but the quality of the beans can vary greatly so you need to find a trusted brand or source.
The flavor of the coffee is locked inside the green, unroasted beans. Roasting unlocks and helps develop the flavor. Longer roasting and higher temperatures make the beans darker and oilier, but sometimes border on being charred and bitter tasting from over roasting.
One last thing on beans and that is choosing coffee based solely on it's name is confusing. That's because beans can be named for their growing region (e.g. Kenya, Columbia, Brazil, Jamaica, etc.) and/or how dark they were roasted. A good thing to remember is there are only two kinds of coffee beans and that anyone can name/label coffee beans whatever it wants. So it's best to choose your coffee beans based on the degree of roast, which I'll elaborate more on further in the series.
Next installment will focus on freshness of the coffee/bean and maintaining it.

Inside Out
I was looking for a place for a great HDR photoshoot. I think I found it here. This is the Bradbury Building in Los Angeles Downtown. It is located at the corner of 3rd St. and Broadway.
It was built towards the end of the 19th century and was used in shooting great old fillms like Bladerunner, Chinatown, Wolf, Lethal Weapon 4 just to name a few.
It's haunted since some people reported seeing ghosts.
The building is still being used by tenants and visitors are only allowed up to the first flight of stairs. The two old elevators are still working but only for use by the tenants.
I was with my wife Emi and you could see her on top of the stairs with her camera.
I like the color version too but finally decided to go for the black and white.

Good morning. Something a bit different for a change, being shots I took inside and antique mall/store this past weekend. Purpose of the trip was to find a coat rack and some china for flickr friend Paige, which I unfortunately failed on in both cases. But the owners were kind enough to allow me to take pictures while in the store. Only problem was I didn't dare bring along a tripod so all shots were hand held in spite of having to use a slow shutter speed since I hate using a flash. As a result only about a dozen or so photos turned out well of approxomately 100 taken.
These are the first two images I'll be posting randomly over the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy them when it's all done. And if you've never taken the time to look for photo opportunities in an antique store you ought to. Especially since great care is given to some of the displays (as above) and there are some very interesting items to be found and photographed...which you'll see in some future pictures. Not forgetting that it can be a lot of fun perusing an antique store.

Das MyZeil ist ein Einkaufszentrum in der Innenstadt von Frankfurt am Main. Es ist Teil des Gebäude-Ensembles "Palais Quartier" und bildet dessen Zugang zur Einkaufsstraße Zeil. Es wurde am 26. Februar 2009 eröffnet. Der Architekt ist Massimiliano Fuksas aus Rom. Für die Tragwerksplanung der Stahl-Glaskonstruktion ist das Ingenieurbüro Knippers Helbig aus Stuttgart verantwortlich.

It is part of the building ensembles "PalaisQuartier" and forms its access to the Zeil shopping street. It was officially opened on 26 February 2009. I've been wanting to make these characters for a long time! My hand was killing me by the time I finished with all the outlining, but they were fun to do!
This was shot inside the bathroom of a random gas station in Clovis, New Mexico (home of Billy The Kid). This is what i find in the sink when i walked in the bathroom.
I've just done my first session of innocent morning yoga today.
It wasn't harsh at all, the exercises where quite easy compared to what they can be.
Even though. I found whole body shivering. It was like an earthquake inside of me. And out of no where tears began racing out my eyes.
For some reason I knew that all that uncomfortable and uncontrollable shivering had to be caused by my turbulent mind.
I didn't want my muscles to work out. It didn't want me to become strong. It wants me to continue being best friends with the couch, depression and of course adobe photoshop. It wants my muscles to ace, and it wants to get rid of all the motivation I have to grow stronger.
But the fact is that I need to grow stronger. I can't, simply CAN'T stop focusing about my body's strength and health. To make a long story short it's because I was born 4 months early 20 years ago in a very small town called Narvik. In Narvik they didn't have the equipment/knowledge to deal with that kind of a problems. So they simply told my mom there was no chance and that I would surely die. I was brought to another hospital in Bodø, Norway where despite everything and everyone - I survived. I want to be that little Natasha again, that little fighting Natasha that wanted to live even though she only weighted 600-grams. Less than a kilo. She never gave up. She always knew I had the power to become the best I can be. I can't give up on her. Not after 20 years. I want to have her motivation to live again.
Now it's not any doctors telling me there's not chance and that I'm going to die regardless of what I do, it's my mind. The doctors of 20 years ago have in some way made their way inside of me and I have to fight the battle yet again.
What always has made this harder are the physical problems regarding this.
I guess I just need to breathe.

Made for my sons and husband to take to a pot-luck dinner with their sailing buddies. I had no end of trouble getting these to look nice outlined! My sons thought using sugar for the sand was a cool idea, and were generally very happy with the cookies.
Sorry, stupid title. But the first time I heard Berliner Dom, I just thought it sounded like been there, done (that). Anyway, this Berlin Dome is very very cool. A huge church inside that is basically a giant dome, and just as cool outside too. Don't have much to say about it other than I was thoroughly impressed.
