Folded from a regular hexadecagon of textured paper; final piece ~12 inches across. This is a refolding of a design I exhibited at 5OSME this summer-- but somehow never posted to Flickr.
Here we have the radial symmetry of the center color changes nested inside the asymmetry of the eilliptical tato; at the same time, the asymmetrical polygon approximation is juxtaposed within the regular polygon that I started with.

The walls of the Gobelin Salon are hung with 18th-century Brussels tapestries (gobelins) showing market and harbour scenes.
The room was last used by Archduchess Sophie, the mother of Emperor Franz Joseph, as her drawing room, after her death it was given its present decoration on the occasion of the World Exhibition in 1873.
The tall object to the right is a ceramic fireplace.
I did this cake during the three days course with Eddie Spence. He is wonderful and my trip to the UK was a real DREAM!! Next year again :)
I love symbols... i search them in everything i see. And this photo reminds me of sea shell with pearl inside...cause that's what my kids are to me... my pearls...my treasure....

Hurst Castle is situated at the seaward end of the shingle spit that extends 1.5 miles from
Milford-On-Sea. The end of the spit, only three-quarters of a mile from the Isle of Wight.
Hurst Castle was the perfect location to defend the western approach to the Solent. The castle
was built by Henry VIII as one of a chain of coastal fortresses and was completed in 1544.
Charles I was imprisoned here in 1648 before being taken to London to his trial and execution.
The castle was modernised during the Napoleonic wars and again in the 1870’s when the
enormous armoured wings were constructed. Two of the huge 38-ton guns installed in the
1870’s can be viewed in their casemates.
During World War II, Hurst was manned with coastal gun batteries and searchlights.

The Lloyd's building (known as the Inside-Out Building) is the home of the insurance institution Lloyd's of London. It is located on the former site of East India House in Lime Street, in London's main financial district, the City of London. The building is a leading example of radical Bowellism architecture in which the services for the building, such as ducts and lifts, are located on the exterior to maximise space in the interior. Twenty-five years after completion in 1986, the building received Grade I listing in 2011; it was the youngest structure ever to obtain this status.

C'è chi dice che la vita è come una scala di un pollaio: corta e piena di m.....
Ma se davvero la vita è fatta come le scale la vita è un mondo di creatività , di personalità , di stile, di gioco, anche se io mi sono fermata alle scale a chiocciola.
Da sempre avrei voluto avere una scala a chiocciola ma poi quando le si fanno sono estremamente scomode..... al di là di tutta la scala a chiocciola resta un'invenzione che affascina chiunque!

Being a beginner and above all a lazy beginner, I would use a lot the 'Intelligent Autofocus' program of my camera, meaning that in many situations, especially in inside locations, the chip would go bananas or force me to use a high ISO, giving an image of poor quality. That's why sometimes I hesitate to post some picture I like but i can't consider technically perfect. Well, enjoy, if you like it :)
