Our new wood insert works well in keeping the place warm. We had the living room up to 79 degrees yesterday! I hope this will lead to a reduction in our utility bill.
I like to decorate the insert on really special cards and for this one I used the heart template as a mask and use the Old Letter Writing stamp to stamp around the heart, leaving a heart shaped space to write sentiment. I added a little punched heart stamped with writing stamp from the Artistic Windows set LP128, then inked the edges.
You can see the depth of the frame and the heart hanging a little better too in tis picture

This is the hardest part. Inserting the vent requires that the shingle adhesive be separated so the vent can be slid between them. Also, any nails in the path of the vent must be removed.
I did not want to risk tearing shingles by peeling them up. Instead, I hammered the nails upward from inside the attic. Then I cut them at the roof with a pair of bolt cutters. After cutting them, I could remove the nail heads. Then, I pulled the nails out with pliers from the bottom.

Total accident. My camera was being very un-co-op with me the other night on the full moon. It died just after I took this of the plain sky- I thought it was going to be just plain black, even if there were night clouds. Turns out... there are unseen lights flying in the sky I don't know about.
And I just love The Munsters theme song. I demand TV Land do a Munsters marathon before I leave for school.
