On 12 July 1562 Friar Diego de Landa, who held the office of inquisitor before the Monastery of San Miguel Arcángel, held an auto de fe ("act of faith") Inquisitional ceremony in Maní, burning a number of Maya books and a reported 5000 idols, saying that they were "works of the devil", thus beginning the cultural genocide of the Mayan people

"She said, "Boy, you need Jesus."

I said, "Get on your knees."

That's just how the dice rolls

When you play this game with me

I done seen some things

That might test your faith

But I can't be the only one

In here that's lost his way

I need a new religion

Girl, I have my reasons

Seems I have no self-control

The truth's I know I don't

So please forgive me." - Ro James ♫

So...Scourge. He was one of my oldest mocs that needed a bit of a rebuild. Not much has changed since last time, but the changes are noticeable and crucial. Backstory wise, he's still a hunter..but no longer a copy of Lockdown. He is now a mute inquisitor. Anyway hope you enjoy this moc. C&C is always welcome.

Briaunotasis ragijus (Rhagium inquisitor)

The Black-crowned Tityra is one of four species in the genus Tityra, which despite the low number gives the name to the family of Tityras and relatives (Tityridae). This species is widespread through Central America and much of northern South America. This individual was seen near the town of Minca in northern Colombia.

I must admit that the hyacinth have wreaked havoc on the bayou we thought that they would be a problem again this year but they do appear to make a nice backdrop for the Inquisitor! Sort of harsh name for this sweet looking bird! This may be lengthy but these shots were taken after the canoe was loaded on the truck at the take-out point! He flew into this spot next to the pier and proceeded to examine the dense patch of hyacinth! I didn't give him much hope of securing a meal!

This is my first post in my series of Yellow-crowned Night Heron photos! In the spring I figured that these guys would be in short supply because they were slow to arrive in the bayou complex! Was I ever WRONG WRON G WRONG!!!! If you can't find one to these on the bayou then your eyes must be closed!

This photo was taken at Bay Area Park on Armand Bayou!

Don't get bored now!!!!

Comments are turned off on some photos! Don't want people thinking that they need to comment on each photo! I know I'll catch some flak!
