Before the Small Block Chevrolet V8 was introduced for model year 1955, Chevrolets were known to have an inline 6 engine, referred to as a ‘Stovebolt 6.’
This wonderful Series 9 Franklin Touring belonged to my Great Aunt shown here on the street in Pine Bluff Arkansas. This unique frontal styline was because it's engine was air cooled. It was an OHV, 199ci inline six and was rated at 25hp. The series 9A was manufactured between 1916 and 1920.
