Memory from road trip last weekend - sketching Ocean Pools. Ghost pool at Gerringong - no longer used as a pool - cardboard back of a sketch pad. Smoke from bushfires all the way down the coast. Highway was cut about 1 hour after we went through.
Fishing boats Ha My Beach. Weather has been bad for past 3 days with big seas, so the boats stay put. Much larger than my usual format - hence the finer line work - 400mm x 200mm Daley and Rowney cold press.
Sitting in shade on the banks of the river - it is 34 C out there. some classic sailing skiffs out on the river.
Work in progress. Berrys Bay - Sydney Harbour on a warm summer day. Harry Seidler's Blues Point Tower left of centre - the building Sydneysider's love to hate.
Having an early dinner before VIVID starts on a Sunday afternoon. The field of view was a bit ambitious.
sketch of a sketch on left was on the ferry sketch on the right on bamboo paper after the first sketch. I was trying out some new bamboo paper - quite impressed - great to work with and more sustainable I am told. LHS A6 Moleskine - RHS A5 Bamboo Sketchpad by Conda
67 Windmill St our Sydney office - Ink Sketch from a glass plate image from the Holtermann Collection 1875. Part of a panorama Sydney taken from the northern side of the harbour. 14 photos - each glass plate negative was generally a whopping 46cm x 56cm! The collection was sponsored by Bernard Otto Holtermann who became a millionaire when he discovered the worlds largest reef gold nugget in 1872 in the Australian Gold rush. Charles Bayliss was the photographer. The total panorama measured 978 centimetres in length! The detail in the photos is incredible.

I thought I’d quickly draw this gate. It turned out harder than expected. As usual I underestimated all the classical mouldings.
Forster NSW Mid North Coast. Shark attack here last week. Guy was mauled by a great white. I went for a swim but not too far out. When I got back I was looking from the balcony of our apartment and - fishermen on the beach had caught a shark - only a small one !! balmy 24 deg. at 8pm
