The marks on her throat were angry and red where the Hand had put his hands, strangling her until she lost consciousness.
These words have nothing to do with the image above, except in the way your dreams relate to your life.
Some of the worst injuries are invisible and those of us that have them keep them hidden beneath layers of identity - different faces for different audiences. I have so many names I can't remember them all.
I live with an invisible disease that is trying to kill me, cell by cell. My own body is trying to kill me. Think about living with that knowledge.
Tomorrow I get a test to learn about the current status of....me. Let's hope big pharma keeps charming my cells into remaining lethargic, much like a flying whale.

The Great Gray Owl on the right continues its retreat
(see the previous image www.flickr.com/photos/luminouscompositions/52761145024/in... ), while the Great Gray Owl on the left — which began this interaction — is about to lift off to press its advantage. That such an interaction could result in injury is evident by the view of the long curved talons of this species on the owl on the right. The denouement of this sequence is shown in the next photo…
Upper Antelope Canyon is called Tsé bighánílíní, 'the place where water runs through rocks' by the Navajo. Despite improved warning and safety systems, the risks of injury from flash floods still exists. On July 30, 2010, several tourists were stranded on a ledge when two flash floods occurred. Some of them were rescued and some had to wait for the flood waters to recede.
Proverbs 9:7 “Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.”
"I am not as lovely as I once was
I am not as shameful as I used to be"
It's all about control.
(Self harm is not a sign of weekness, it's a sign of strength and survival.
I call them 'war injurys' becuase that's what they are.)

This is my life and my story - then and now
This is my brother. we were raised in foster homes and throughout most of our early adulthood. I went one way (military) and he went another, (street life and in and out of prison for non violent crimes)
Homelessness and alcohol ruled his life, mine was ruled by raising a family and living thousands of miles away from him while I was in the army. We connected several times during those 20 years and he lived with me for over a year at one duty station in the 1980′s but then we went our separate ways again.
I moved to California after retiring from the military 14 years ago and he would visit the kids and I but was drunk most of the time.
About 10 years ago he hit rock bottom when he was drinking sun up to sun down and had a severe car accident that required surgeries for internal injuries and several broken bones in his hand and arm. 6 months later he had an alcoholic seizure that caused him to incur a traumatic brain injury, surgery and a month in a coma. I kept him at my place after his release from the hospital, got him on disability and was looking for long term care but all this still didn’t stop him from drinking – so we were estranged and he lived with a family he knew.
I found him this past April and learned that he has been sober for 8 years. He still has a few seizures a year from the scarring on his brain.
It is amazing how people can change – it is even more amazing that in this photo he is only 53 years old and I was 51.
I felt 107 in this photo but it was a good day.
you can see his left hand (yes he is a lefty) can't open fully and he has scars on his face. On the left side of his head there is a big dent and scar that runs from his temple to the back of his head and he has a scar from his chest to his belly button. Loma Linda Hospital saved his life twice but he saved his life once and that is what brought us to this day.
He has a memory like steel for the past but can't remember something from 12 hours ago - he tries to write down reminders and then forgets where he left them or the importance of them when he sees them. Something as simple as fasting the night before a blood test is lost from when he goes to bed to when he gets up in the morning, or even the fact that he has a doctor's appointment.
Part of a set I did on self-injury. No, it's not real. Corn syrup and food coloring. But it's a real situation that countless people have experienced.
It was cathartic to do these. I wanted to turn my painful past experiences into something beautiful.
Apparently a friggin' TON of people have viewed this, and yet... no comments.
Come on, guys.

Since suffering a fairly debilitating knee injury last month I haven't been trackside much, and when I have been, it's been quite difficult to walk around. Thankfully I've still been able to get creative (all while from the comfort of my car) with my Mavic. More aerial photos to follow.

Santa Cruz County, AZ - My friend Jules Wyman and I found this beautiful adult Green Ratsnake in a rather indecisive position on a dirt road about an hour before sunset. It was our first snake of the year in Arizona (at least for me!) and a really stunning one at that. It was special to getting out with Jules as he was recovering from a recent injury and was relegated to the car for the most part. This was a difficult shot for me as without a friend and being slightly unprepared I had to balance my camera on my leg as I gently posed the snake while I tried my best to get good focus at such an awkward angle. Keeping the photo session short, I was initially frustrated that I may have failed to get a good photo as for one reason or another I either haven't photographed or poorly photographed this species during other encounters. Luckily the snake and my camera were on my side and I was happy to find this photo when I parsed through the results of my little sunset shoot. I was very happy to have Jules literally rooting for me from the sidelines and being a positive influence, as this marks what I hope to be a fantastic summer full of great photographs and even greater memories!

It was absolutely monsoonal this morning as we drove to the gym! My son and his partner run this place as both a normal gym for fit people and people who want to be fit like me! But also as a place for people with neuro-physiological problems, injuries, mental health issues etc to help them with recovery and to manage their problems. They also create adventures for people to help them adapt to normal life. Ed, and one of his clients who has Parkinson's disease, are planning a cycle ride from Lands End to John o' Groats. I think this is enormously brave, and I wish them well with it!
I was surprised to find a lone Snow Bunting ( Plectrophenax nivulis) (f) standing all alone in the middle of the paved street. No injury evident ... pretty bird!

very disappointing to revisit this flamingo chick the small sore spot on its foot has grown into this giant fly attraction boil/tumor?; sad to see this in the care of the Audubon Zoo, New Orleans.
Heavy rain and poor weather hit the Isle of Man yesterday with some significant flooding and debris seen on many major and minor roads. Perhaps one of the most spectacular visual scenes was found in Lower Laxey where the bridge over the river Laksaa, near to the harbour, gave way just as Isle of Man Transport East Lancs bodied Dennis Trident 20 (HMN 245J) was passing over it, resulting in the bus falling into the river. Whilst the bridge is served by a bus route, there are no scheduled services outside the peak summer season and it is thought the bus was having to get to Laxey promenade to turn due to being diverted as a result of Glen Road being closed due to debris. It is understood no injuries were suffered.
The historic Old Laxey or Monk's Bridge is thought to be medieval in origin, widened at least twice during the 1800's to meet then modern demands and, transport wise, is most notable for at one stage having a small tram or wagonway pass over it, to enable washed ore and workings mined at the Great Laxey Mine to access the harbour for onward shipment.

History of Zomergem a village on 15 km from Ghent
The first settlement begins with the Christianization of Saint Amand in the 7th century when the witnesses hill where the church now stands was built a chapel or church. Zomergem was a primitive parish whose patronage in 1171 by the bishop was donated to the chapter of Tournai.
The oldest data about the lords of Zomergem, as owners of the same glory back to 11th century. Since the 13th century the manor was owned by several families, including Martin Snouckaert, lord of Zomergem in 1642.
Apart from the traditional diffuse agricultural industries Zomergem had no remarkable industrialization. Zomergem acquired since the beginning of the 20th century fame with flowers, especially azaleas culture. The bombing targeted the building material injury within the municipality during the First World War.
The sun sets in Hub City, gangsters on the prowl, victimizing the weak and poor, rising tensions between the U.S and Axis Powers, Roosevelt declared neutrality, though people doubt it will last long, but now we got back to the on shore crimes. Three gangsters waltz into a bank; their well shined shoes tap against the floor in a synchronized order. The staff in the bank freezes, seeing that these notorious scoundrels have decided to crash the party. Swing music plays from a record, but as they walk in it cuts short, as they realize the seriousness of this.
“Alright, I think you know what we want, I’m sure you read of our past escapades in the news, so you should know what we want” the bank tellers bring out the money and put it in a bag, as machine guns are painted directly at their head.
“Thanks, if our territory expands, we’ll make sure to go easy on you fellas” the mobsters share a laugh as they walk out the door, with barley any stress, is there any one that can save the day?
The taps of their shoes can be heard from a mile away, yet no one calls the officers, that’s because Hub City has been hit with hard times, and hasn’t been the same since the depression.
“So Charlie, what you gonna do with your cut?”
“I dunno Jones, but Zucco, what you gonna do with yours?”
“I got some money saved to move to Gotham, start anew, I gotta admit, Hub City has gone to crap” while it has gone to crap, there’s someone who will save it, and you’re about to learn who!
A shadow lurks over the three men, they don’t notice at first, but the mobster names Jones sees it out of the corner of his eye, he turns back slowly, like a jammed gear, desperately trying to move out of it’s one position. A look of confusion overcomes his face.
“Who the hell are yo-”suddenly the person jumps at him, giving him a swift punch to the face, following up with a roundhouse kick to the chest, and then two jabs, as he swipes his feet, knocking him down, just adding to the pain. He then lunges at the two other men, one of them holding a machine gun, he starts to divert his attention to him, the mobster named Zucco, he pulls the machine gun out of his hand and tosses it, then the punches him in the shoulder, at this point the other mobster, named Charlie, attempts to deliver a punch, but he dodges it, by speeding to the left, he then delivers a barrage of punches upon Zucco, followed with an uppercut, and kick to the chest, knocking him down for the count. Right after he turns his attention to the final gangster Charlie, he appears to be unarmed, but quickly pulls a firearm out of his suit.
The two stare at each other, as if their eyes themselves are interlocked in battle, at the base of it you all you see two men in suits, but one is fighting to stop corruption, the other champions it. But if you break it down to the most basic level, it’s yin and yang, one fighting for good, and one championing evil, things are different, yet stay the same. These two figures stand there, looking deep into each other’s eyes, both unsure of their fates, but knowing that it doesn’t matter, the only thing you can strive for in this is victory. A gust of wind picks up, blowing some dollars around, they swirl among our hero and villain, as if to resemble leaves from the autumnal season.
“So, you gonna make a move or what?” the mobster asks, as his hand begins to shake, nervous and unsure of the future, like a young man.
“I’m waiting for you, so whenever you want to let me test my powers go ahead."
BANG
The man grips his chest, looking like he’s in the worst pain imaginable.
“That’s what vigilantes like you get in this city, a shot in the chest” suddenly he regains his strength and removes his hand from his chest to reveal that there is no injury, and he swings his hand, throwing a device that resembles a throwing star, straight at him, it hits the gun, and he leaps in at him, a fury of punches land on his chest, like bombs landing on the surface of a war torn Europe.
“Who-who the hell are you?” he asks, hazily tired from being beaten by a mystery man.
"Me, oh you wouldn't know my name...yet, but tell your friends who defeated you, tell your friends who’s going clean up crime in Hub City, tell them it was THE BLUE BEETLE!”he lands one clean punch on his face, knocking him cold out. The police sirens wail and he escapes, now this mystery man will be known to the city, tune in next time to find out, THE ORIGIN OF THE BLUE BEETLE!

Well I hope you guys enjoyed that app for Dan Garrett in the DCSG, It would ideally take place in late 1939, and eventually go into WW2, it would show the DCSG's world back in the old days, and eventually intertwine with the other parts of the DCSG, just in case you were wondering, this was Dan's first costume, which was a rip off of the Green Hornet, since charleton (BB's original company) had a habit of doing that, and I like to think it's a tradition that continues to today. I hope that you enjoyed it and leave your feedback in the description below, and get ready for part two of the app, have a good day!
Probably a deer skull. I didn't notice the slug at the time. Amazing what you find if you go off trail.
I came out of a series of meetings this morning to see this unfolding. Viewed large, you can see the snowflakes against the parking ramp.
The injury to this insult are tonight’s temperatures plummeting below zero Fahrenheit, which combined with the 35-40 mph winds will result in wind chills around -25F (-31.67C). This is weather we’d normally see in late January or early February, not mid-December.
