On the evening of August 17th, I was headed out the front door to take photos of the moon. To my surprise this sweet little tree frog was clinging to the glass on our storm door! I was able to place it gently in a clear box and create a temporary habitat, so that we could enjoy observing it for a short time and take some photos. I even caught some bugs for it, which it readily ate. The frog is called a Gray Tree Frog (Hyla versicolor) and very seldom leaves the trees it lives in, usually only to mate, but this is not their breeding time. I read that they may be attracted to porch lights, where they can easily find insects. It was released with no harm done. (Size of this frog is only 1 5/16th inches long and 3/4 inches wide (measured with legs folded).

The Netherlands - Hantumhuizen
On the eastern edge of he Frisian village Hantumhuizen (about 200 inh.) stands the St. Annachurch. As often the oldest part is the (12th century) tower, whereas the nave dates from the 13th century and the choir from the 18th century. Its reddish color owes the Romano-Gothic church to bricks made of local clay, containing iron oxide. The owner is the Alde Fryske Tsjerken foundation. 21 year old me took this photo and 27 year old me has edited it. This was taken flying over the alps on the way back from Rhodes in 2011. I was wanting to get this type of shot on the flight over but they didn’t really come out how I hoped, but I ended up getting lucky with this one on the way home. I was looking through some old shots last night when I came across this and I’m surprised I haven’t posted it early.

Vom 23. bis zum 27.4.2018 war 215 082 der Aggerbahn (Inh. Andreas Voll) für Arbeitszugdienste beim Umbau der Höllentalbahn im Schwarzwald zu Gast. Am Abend des 24.4.2018 ist sie unterhalb von Hinterzarten am Eingang in das Löffeltal unterwegs.
