Munich Subway Station "Westfriedhof" on the U1 line with Ingo Maurer lamps. One of the worlds most beautiful underground train stations - MĂĽnchen-Westfriedhof.
MĂĽnchens meist fotografierte U-Bahn Station

Westfriedhof metro station, MĂĽnchen, Germany.
Design (1998): Auer Weber Architekten | Fritz Auer, Carlo Weber.

This is real this colorful, even with this unusual perspective. Handheld, no tripod, no image stabilization, therefore not completely tack sharp.
Then so what, nobody says a picture you like to watch for more than a few seconds needs to be technically perfect. Enjoy the tilted portrait perspective of a station normally displayed in landscape format

Ingo Maurer Intim. Design or what? – Ausstellung in der Pinakothek der Moderne,
15.11.2019 - 18.10.2020.
The most photographed underground station in Munich is located in Moosach and opened in 1998. Particularly characteristic of the subway station are their lamps designed by Ingo Maurer. Eleven large lampshades with a diameter of 3.80 m wrap the platform in the colors blue, red and yellow, dividing it into different color ranges.
I feel fascinated by the atmosphere of the rather dark light, the intense blue of the walls, the color of the lamps .

"Porca Miseria" by lamp designer Ingo Maurer
omaggio luminoso ... all'UnitĂ d'Italia
a tribute to the unification of Italy
(by a German designer)
Actually it's not new it's just newly renovated, with a brand new red ceiling and LED lights. Light design by Ingo Maurer.
It's kind of different light, standing below it's normal LED Light, looking forward they become red light strips. On the floor it's quite homogenous and free of shadow. However pedestrians walking trough the light changes below the light and between the light stripes. The faces are light up like sun from straigt up and go into shadow again.
Also because of the reflection there are virtual walls coming down from the ceiling.

Yesterday i spotted the famous but rarely seen Munich Halloween Monster at the Westfriedhof underground station.
