Macro Mondays theme : #Tea

This little tea infuser is shaped like a teapot. And just beside it, some Oolong tea leaves. Oolong is a traditional Chinese tea. It’s made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. This tea is known for many of its health benefits.

As a reference, the little teapot plate measures 1 ¼” in diameter.

Tea anyone?

Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments

I love a hot cup of tea. I hate a mouthful of tea leaves! So I stick to tea bags and this heart shaped tea infuser remains unused in the kitchen drawer.

(I put a red LED inside it to try and catch the ''3" shape of the other clam half. But who ever makes tea in the dark?)

Ancient Chinese Proverb say tea good for heart.

Another, Tea is drunk to forget the din of the world.

And, Water is the mother of tea, a teapot its father, and fire the teacher

How could I resist this cute little tea pot infuser, I'm sure it will make my afternoon tea all the sweeter.

Another contraption. My thermos tea infuser so I can enjoy a hot cup of tea when I get to work. My favorite flavor; Oprah's Chai from Teavana.

I have not been able to post in MM due to a job change that has left me with little time to spare. I had fun spending hours yesterday getting reaquainted with my camera. HMM!

Macro Mondays - My Daily Routine theme.

Every day I start the morning with a cup of tea; jasmine is one of my favourites, it has a delicate fragrance and taste.

The tea infuser is 4 cm in diameter, the pearls 0.5 cm each.

Lavender's tangy aromatic flavor offers an exotic herbal touch to culinary creations, making it somewhat of an acquired taste. However, once you embrace its essence, lavender can find a permanent place in your heart. It becomes a symbol of unforgettable memories created in the picturesque small villages of France, Great Britain, or California. Whether it’s savoring local cuisine infused with this fragrant herb or wandering through vibrant lavender festivals, the experiences are as enriching as they are fragrant

In the morning a little light and a tea infuser will do the trick for me. I had a photo of boiling water all prepared when this idea struck my old brain... so here it is. Enjoy your morning tea of coffee! (f.y.i the light inside is made up of 2 different colors, with a felt-marker)

MALACHI: “Goodness Daddy! What are you doing?”

DADDY: “Oh Malachi, I spilt some of my Monk Pear tea out of the tea infuser and now it has scattered everywhere!”

MALACHI: “Well, perhaps I can help you clean it up, Daddy.”

DADDY: “Oh would you Malachi? That would be very helpful. Your little paws can probably reach the tea leaves I can’t get with my bigger fingers.”

MALACHI: “Just one moment, Daddy.” *Leaves and returns with a teapot, milk jug sugar bowl, cup and saucer.

DADDY: “Ummm… Malachi?”

MALACHI: “Yes Daddy?”

DADDY: “Malachi, pardon me for asking this, but how exactly is your tea set going to help me clean the tea leaves up?”

MALACHI: “Well, it’s really quite simple, Daddy.” *Puts paw into tea infuser and withdraws a single tealeaf.* “See Daddy, I have some hot water in the pot and I will add this tealeaf to it to brew my own pot of Monk Pear tea.”

DADDY: “And that helps me in what way, Malachi?”

MALACHI: “Well I should have thought that was obvious, Daddy.” *Puts tealeaf into his teapot.* “By me taking this tealeaf, that is one less tealeaf you will have to clean up.”

DADDY: “Oh!” *Surprised.*

MALACHI: “Now, if you’ll excuse me Daddy, I’ll go drink my delicious Monk Pear tea, and leave you to sweep up the rest of the tealeaves. Goodbye Daddy!” *Takes away tea things and wanders away.*

DADDY: *Crumples face in consternation.* “Goodbye Malachi… and thank you… I think.”

MALACHI: *Distantly.* “My pleasure to help, Daddy.”

The theme for “Looking Close on Friday” for the 7th of January is “tea”. This was a wonderful theme for me, as I love drinking tea and have many kinds, including this Monk Pear tea that a friend of mine put me on to. It tastes a bit like Earl Grey tea, only with a definite pear flavour. If you follow my photostream, you may know that I collect 1:12 size miniatures, some of which have featured in past themes in the “Looking Close on Friday” group. This includes Malachi the bear, who was so kind as to “help” me clean up the spilt tealeaves! I do hope that you like my choice, and that this photograph makes you smile!

Malachi I acquired in mid-March 2020 (and mid Coronavirus) from a wonderful Melbourne stalwart toy shop: Dafel Dolls and Bears, when I went looking for a present for one of my goddaughters. Malachi is designed by Mary and hand-made by Wendy Joy in Australia. He has articulated arms and legs, and an extremely sweet face. Malachi was the name he came with, written by hand on his little tag.

Malachi tea set is a 1:12 miniature gilded tea set, which has a transfer of Art Nouveau gold leaves on it based on a Royal Doulton design for grapevines from the Edwardian era. The tea set is an artisan made 1:12 miniature from my own collection.

Couldn't resist this little teapot tea infuser!

It was a difficult decision to determine which way to face at any given moment. No one answer would suffice, so I pivoted back and forth, forth and back. Fear of missing something at every turn... but I jest really. It was actually pretty peaceful out there by the shores of the frozen lake, feeling the insistence of the cold growing in my fingers and toes despite the warm gloves and thick socks.

I'm excited to unveil my latest collection, inspired by the enchanting streets of Paris and its charming café bistros. This set features a variety of delightful items designed to infuse a romantic atmosphere into your space.

For Macro Monday's "Contraption"

HMM to all.

Infused with wonderous blue hues by the glacial rock flour suspended in its torrents, a cold winter river cascades into a fissure in the basalt landscape forming the beautiful Brúarfoss, near Laugarvatn, Iceland.

On our awesome photographic journey through Iceland late last winter, Sky Matthews and I made a point of trying to find this amazing place. Its quite convenient but not obvious, if that makes sense, and the mood of the day ended up complementing the experience well. The skies were gray and volatile, befitting the season; the trail was ice and snow covered; and a few flurries frittered slowly down in the breeze for a time as we gazed upon the intricate waterfalls. Perhaps most intriguingly, the ruddy blue waters appeared in such vivid contrast to the surrounding subdued earth tones and grayscale atmosphere. A stunning winter scene!

A note: We were fortunate to be able experience this beautiful place when it was open to visitors, but I understand that the trail to Brúarfoss was closed later that summer due to impacts of the increasing volume of tourists visiting the site, at least some of whom apparently were not respectful of this magnificent environment. Yet another reminder of the need to take great care as we interact with these natural wonders and the many other landscapes we pass through along the way.

Thanks for viewing!

One of a Kind, Original, Vintage Charm Bracelet

Vintage Charm Infused Bracelet

Victorian / The Mermaid Tide

Collected Trinkets and Treasures

Legend has it that the mermaids collected lost treasure at the bottom of the ocean, weaving beautiful jewelry from "paste & sea foam" ~ and that even now grottos of underwater treasure hold centuries of beautiful trinkets from lost cities and ancient shipwrecks. Once a mermaid grew tired of her collected jewels, she would swim close to shore and toss them into shallow tidepools, for surface people to discover, returning the "borrowed" bounty to it's rightful owner.

Our beautiful mermaid bracelet is constructed of fine vintage jewelry, retrofitted into a magnificent charm infused bracelet.

The base of this offering from our local mermaid is a HEAVY, WW2 ID TAG - .925 Sterling Silver - MINT. Cleaned and polished to a high shine!

Macro Monday's and the theme of "Tea".

I mistakenly bought a box of loose leaf tea several months ago and this has remained in our kitchen cupboard since then.

Now with this weeks MM theme being Tea I decided it was time to go and buy an infuser so I could finally make some good use of the loose tea.

The infuser is like two spoons with holes and both sides clip together so after getting a scoop of tea leaves and boiling the kettle I poured the water into my cup over the infuser and then stirred a little and waited a few minutes. I had then decided to unclip both sides so the used leaves fell out and photograph it that way rather than trying to record the infusion coming out into the water as I had already done this once before.

Well, a couple of photos later and after one very nice cuppa I was done.

This is my submission for this weeks Macro Mondays theme of Vowel. It is Olive Oil Infused with Chilli Oil. The floating Chilli is approx 4cm HMM

A tiny production of just 3500 bottles, this is a balanced Viognier that leans towards fresh fruit and acid, rather than any tropical notes. The grapes are sourced from a partially-terraced 1.05ha parcel in Verin, located 2km from Condrieu. The Malolactic fermentation is blocked, keeping a high level of acidity in this sharp expression of granite-infused soil. The dominant notes are white flowers, violets, with persistent minerality through the finish.
