Information regarding this image. As I have a fascination with the sun's reflection on water, I couldn't resist taking this shot.
After several exposures, a swan drifted across my view. What you actually see is the shadow of the swan and not a silhouette. I turned the image upside down and cropped the swan off the image, leaving just it's shadow. I quite liked the result. PDG.

DESCRIPTION:
On 16 February , at about 17:00, there was a short but violent eruption of volcano Etna. The eruption begun with an explosion followed by a massive lava fountains rising from the South-Est crater, one of the summit craters. This phase lasted just under two hours, then quickly the phenomenon decreased in intensity and after few hours the volcano went back to sleep. The picture shows the South Est crater at a time when the paroxysmal phase is over, but the lava keeps to coming out from the cracks of the crater created by the explosion . The incandescent fumes that partially cover the crater , come from the Central crater and from the other summit craters.

The red-bellied woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus) is a medium-sized woodpecker of the family Picidae. It breeds mainly in the eastern United States, ranging as far south as Florida and as far north as Canada. Its common name is somewhat misleading, as the most prominent red part of its plumage is on the head; the red-headed woodpecker, however, is another species that is a rather close relative but looks quite different.
Adults are mainly light gray on the face and underparts; they have black and white barred patterns on their back, wings and tail. Adult males have a red cap going from the bill to the nape; females have a red patch on the nape and another above the bill. The reddish tinge on the belly that gives the bird its name is difficult to see in field identification. Matilija Poppy has been called the "Queen of California Flowers". Unique and distinct, it is one of the most recognized and beloved of California’s native plants. The large white blooms are the size of a saucer. The petals look like wrinkled crepe paper, the center is a bright yellow disk. Some have likened the flower to the appearance of a fried egg. A solitary bloom is a very fine thing, but a large stand of Matilija in full bloom is a sight to behold! Hundreds of huge white flowers borne at eye-level on long straight stems, contrasted by attractive blue-green foliage… a real show stopper in late spring/early summer!
