From building highrise commercial towers in seventies, Mumbai (and India) seems to have settled for stunted midrises for commercial buildings. In a land starved city (and nation) why waste acres and acres of land in four storey office buildings set amidst landscaped gardens? They look nice but don't contribute to the city skyline which are now dominated by 30-40 storey condominium buildings. It is a waste of land too.
The Sheridan IT department held its end of year meeting at the Palleta Mansion in Burlington. I managed to get some exterior shots of this gorgeous 1920s mansion.
Women from European and Indian backgrounds meet outside the office. To the left stands a woman from Germany. To the right a woman from India who wears a dupatta (scarf) and a salwar kamiz.
They greet one another with the traditional Nameste. More photographs by Stuart Forster can be viewed at www.whyeyephotography.com.
