These used to be $0.99 before Hyper Inflation kicked in

Inflation hasn't ruined everything. A dime can still be used as a screwdriver. ~Author Unknown

Photograph taken at Stahl's Automotive Museum, Chesterfield Twp, Michigan.

We visited the Knavesmire by York Racecourse, this morning, for the second York Balloon Festival. Last year's event was spoiled by rain and we didn't get to see a mass launch but this morning the weather was perfect! I've always wanted to shoot an event like this and we were lucky with the conditions, this morning.Returning for an afternoon launch, I was disappointed again when wind stopped play.

Years agi they sold big watermelons with lovely seeds. They only cost

three, or four cents a pound.

Whilst tidying I found an old Concert ticket - Inflation? Looking for my earlier tickets now. They must have been about £2!

I took my camera to my paragliding lesson yesterday to capture some of my fellow student. It has been a good, fun challenge, and I qualified to move on to high flights.

Love their outside waiting area. An old converted gas station.

We've been having a heatwave with over a hundred temperatures all week in Nor Cal. It will barely hit a hundred today so it won't be too bad. Hot and no wind outside. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

If you think these balloons look good you should see my jugs.

Sadly, there’s lot of inflation in the clown economy.

Did you mean this balloon knot?

All this hot air get a rise out of you?

I’ll be here all week.

In the early hours within the Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa, our hot air balloon is inflated in preparation for flight.

Thanks to www.balloonaloft.com for letting me photograph the inflation/take off. Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia

A little expensive for a meal for a child...unless they give you the child as a free gift with it..;)

A picture I shared today on social media for Throwback Thursday. I took this shot in December 1988 using my original Konica camera (still working), and a close-up lens filter. I'd have to dig out the negatives to verify, but I'm almost certain the photo was taken with the same roll of Tri-X.

I was in high school at the time, and worked part-time at a nearby CVS. The store offered send-out developing service, and I usually sent in a roll every week.

According to one website, the price of US $3.19 in 1988 is equivalent to $8.18 in 2023 dollars - still cheaper than a 24-exposure roll sells for today.

Manual inflation handle on my Spinlock personal flotation device (PFD aka life jacket). Under normal circumstances the pressure sensor will trigger inflation automatically so the manual handle is a backup.

Approximately 2"/50cm of the handle is shown.

Inflation has no value between trees.

Notgeld, detail of bill

My poor memory might be wrong, but I seem to remember sitting with CN Southwell in The Other Place Penny Bar in Meadville having 50 cent Iron City drafts about ten years ago!

Buffalo & Pittsburgh BT-3's raggy looking GP40 is in just as sad shape as the bar! Just dont judge a book by it's cover. They both do the job!

Episode Two: The inflation strikes back

After months and months of buying orders, the young Sir Prime is making some promissing progress on his biggest LEGO project yet.

The Millennium Falcon...

While things have been looking good the prices have gone up, making it diffucult to make large orders.

But Prime is convinced to finish what he started ! Sitting at 2,234 pieces out of 4,133 he can't backdown now, but will he spend the resources ment for the Falcon be used for other figures or projects ? Will he finish it on time for Episode VIII ?
