Recently read the infinity gauntlet story line, and it inspired me to make these guys

StarFox: not really sure why I made him, other then i had the idea for the combo.

Thanos: please apriciate the tiny detail on the infinity gauntlet. look at the tiny gems. it is beutiful and i am proud. as for thanos himself, i want to go back a redo the head, since it could be better, mainly the eyes. i might commission someone actually, now that i think about it. yo Zach, would you be up for that?

Adam Warlock: simple but i really like how he came out. really hope he shows up in gaurdians of the galaxy 2.

The Infinity Gauntlet (1991) Issue No. 1

First submission for OLS's contest.

Here is a copy of the original cover for reference.

A few notes:

1) I created my Infinity Gauntlet MOC for this contest, and I will be posting detailed pictures of it shortly (yes, it fits on the Thanos Big Fig :)

2) Abiding by the contest rules, there are no bootleg pieces or figs featured.

3) I took a few liberties in replacing some characters, because:

a) there are some relatively obscure characters on the cover (particularly for non-MARVEL fans -- such as: A'Lars/Mentor, Firelord, Eros, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Jake Miller, Ralph Bunker, Bambi Long, etc.)

b) i don't have MOCs for all of these figs!

c) i wanted to give a shout out to some of the more recognizable / popular teams / characters that were in the story but not featured on the original cover (e.g. X-Men, Namor, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, etc)

4) I must have taken literally dozens of photos to get this the way I wanted, in the end, I'm pretty pleased at how it turned out.

Notes:

• Groot [MOD]: basically I felt (as many others have noted) that the big fig was too tall -- the design is great, much better than the official TLG one -- but too tall nonetheless.

• My solution was to do some major modifications / surgery -- giving him a measured height reduction (kind of like the reverse procedure by Vince Freeman from the movie Gattaca).

• I'm not sure how I feel about the final product -- it's definitely not my best work, but then, in my own defense, I don't think I will be using Sculpey again -- it's too hard to work with and the heating component adds too many variables.

• I'll likely be using a self hardening clay agent next time (perhaps ProCreate) -- so I may re-do Groot again.

• Starlord and Gamora's arms were swapped out for Rocket Raccon's SDCC variant arms.

It's my first time using clay, but I would love to hear people's thoughts? Like it? Hate it?

Do you think that the original Groot big fig wasn't that tall?

So, you thought there were only six Infinity Stones didn't you, well guess what, there are actually more (others that I don't think I'll be able to make for reasons, and I want to focus on this right now). I found out about this from Death Battle (Deadpool vs. Mask), and if you know about the stone and about me, and my favorite red mouthy mercenary that I might have just mentioned, you probably already knew why I had to make this. I basically painted the stone dark blue because, I think that's what color that is.

Thanos, the Mad Titan, has murdered more people than can be imagined. Half of everybody at least once, actually. See, he likes Death. REALLY likes Death. Intimately likes Death. Hoboy. So in order to impress her, he likes bumping folks off.

And that glove of his? The Infinity Gauntlet, set with gems that give the wielder complete omnipotence. He still got beaten, but that's because he has inadequacy problems. He alwyas loses because of them. But aside from THAT, Thanos is really an awesome character!
