***EXCLUSIVE*** WYOMING - AUGUST 23: A photograph of Milky Way stars over Grand Teton Mountain Range at Grand Teton National Park on August 23, 2011 in Wyoming. Stunningly beautiful images capture the glory of the Milky Way taken with just a simple digital camera. Revealing the Earth's place in our swirling galaxy, the pictures on display look like they could have been snapped with a million pound telescope not a readily available camera. And incredibly, photographer Royce Bair has only been turning his lens to the night's sky for the past six months. Calling his series "Night Scapes', Royce, (insert age) created the erie and ghostly images by visiting some of America's most famous national parks. My custom rover and mech made in the new space theme. Working on names for them and open to suggestions!
Searching through car boot sales and presents from family, my collection isn't big yet but it sits proudly on my mantelpiece. I tried a little shoot on an infinity light table to catalogue them and this was one of the results.
I don't know too much about each of them apart from the little I could find searching keywords on the internet but really interested in getting to know and understand them all.
“‘Momentum’ comprises of three, freestanding vertical ‘infinity boxes’: mirrored structures in which an illuminated three-dimensional object creates kaleidoscopic optical illusions.
“The artists are interested in the way the addition of motion and speed affects the interactions of infinity, light, material and form created by the illuminated object; and how this phenomenon is then translated to the experience of the user.
“Participants can interact with the installation by rotating a wheel, which in turn rotates the 3D light element to explore the interplay between infinity, changing form and pattern.
“To visitors, the installation initially presents as a series of tall, dark three-dimensional boxes. Their key to interacting with a box is to do so with a partner, with a person standing on either side of the box. As one spins a wheel activating the light element inside, their partner views the spinning form as it is reflected into infinity.”
Topic: Make a photograph of something made out of glass. Be sure to go for interesting reflections or highlights.

IMPERFECTION: Weekly Photography Challenge. I wanted to show something that's almost perfect, but it's not--it's IMperfect. All the crystal, and reflections, and delicate form with a missing ear...
Two exposures combined in the camera. Both 1/15th of a second, both with aperture f/7.1, but one focused right on the subject, the other one intentionally out of focus (focused at infinity). Light source in the first shot (the focused one) was coming from camera left a little to the front of the subject; for the out-of-focus shot it was directly over the subject. The light was not a strobe but a LED flashlight. Does that qualify for Strobist? I guess not...

Well, not quite to infinity. The J's Hospice Charity holds its first Young Adults Group for its patients being cared for in the community. This is one of the lighting effects in the multi-sensory room. It's done with mirrors.

For Utata's Iron Photographer 80:
1 - an image (a pulp cover reprinted in the terrific book Sin-a-rama)
2 - the reflection of that image (reflected into one o' them funky "infinity" light boxes from the 70's that we just "happen" to have in the garage...ehem...)
3 - somewhat desaturated ('nuff said)
All this needs is a funky sitar soundtrack...
