Deserted into a new infection
Discern this sad ending deserted in the midst of all the unwanted
While the drought brought from your ignorance created unexplored pathways
The coldness of the ones I craved coagulated into a new specimen
Now the sad resolution has become the birth of a new infection

A cute hummingbird with their tongue out right?
Nope.
After a little research this little female bird is suffering from a fungal infection which often comes from either a dirty feeder or honey that has gone bad. People feed birds and hummingbirds with the best intentions, but this photo should be a reminder that if don't keep those clean, we can hurt the little creatures we love to watch in our backyards and gardens. Sadly this bird has probably past away by now. I took this photo at a beautiful seaside resort on Vancouver Island and have subsequently emailed the general manager to ensure things like feeders are cleaned, and little birds can feed without worrying about fungal infections.

I had a non functional pocket calculator that I have dismantled for another MM theme. The subjects are the tiny key pads and a clear plastic circuit board.
There were two light sources. An overhead table lamp and a LED torch at 12 o'clock behind the plastic circuit board.
Many thanks for your visit, comments, invites and faves...it is always appreciated...

A friendly busker. I gestured with my camera to see if I can take a photo and he nodded. As he was very much into his guitar, I thanked him and left.
Thank Thank you for viewing. If you like please fav and leave a nice comment. Hope to see you here again. Have a wonderful day 😊

A young tree may wait a hundred years for an older tree to die from bush fires, droughts or insect attacks often followed with fungal infections or have to grow very slowly before gaining enough light and resources to become a forest giant.

According to preliminary research a study published in The New England Journal of Medicine on March 17 says, that the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 can survive in the air for several hours in fine particles known as aerosol.
The coronavirus, which causes the respiratory infection COVID-19, can be detected up to 3 hours after aerosolization and can infect cells throughout that time period, the study authors found.
However, the study is still preliminary, because it has not undergone extensive peer-review.
Some things are starting to change in the villages, and the Chief wearing this hat is a sign of that. This picture was taken after finishing a discussion with the Chief about female genital mutilation (FGM), a procedure commonly found throughout sub-Saharan Africa. For the Maasai FGM signifies the girl’s passage to adulthood and usually takes place before marriage. FGM is technically illegal in Tanzania, but it is still carried out regularly although more discreetly now. Female activists are now calling for an end to the practice, many women develop infections post procedure, resulting in death for some. Unfortunately, given the patriarchal nature of this tribe, and their nomadic lifestyle shielding them from outside influence, FGM remains a contentious ritual.
Viruses are not alive but affect all living things!
Have a grand weekend guys.Thank you for comments and faves.

Okavango Delta
Botswana
Southern Africa
The Giraffe of Botswana are of the southern Africa race or commonly known as the southern Giraffe. The Botswana giraffe population is stable.
Giraffe have the loosest social structure in the animal kingdom with the groups changing in size constantly as individuals move from one place to another. Despite this loose social structure male Giraffe tussle for dominance for it is the stronger that gets the females when they are in heat.
Giraffe in Botswana are preyed upon by lions and hyenas and leopards. They mainly attack youngsters under one year of age. In one instance, a leopard attacked a four day old giraffe and holding it by the throat until chased off by the mother. The baby slowly hobbled to its feet with help from the mother but it was very badly injured. The mother began to move off slowly for the baby to follow but it finally succumbed to its injuries. The mother hung around for some time before moving off.
The Giraffe of the Okavango Delta suffer from an eye infection that often blinds them in both eyes resulting in the particular animal staggering around until taken by a predator or falling and unable to stand up. This disease flares up at unspecified times.
Wheelchair photography. In March I had a simply foot surgery, developed a bone infection and have been in a wheelchair ever since . Hope to be set free soon. To ward off boredom I have been taking shots from our small deck. The birds have been very cooperative, a bit of seed helped.
A rust fungus on one of my current bushes, Ribes sanguineum. I had noticed numerous dark pink/red spots on the leaves, but this 20-shot focus-stacked image shows the petiole of a leaf affected, with the infection progressing down into the leaf itself. An unusual pattern is shown by the orange spots - these are the fruiting bodies of the fungus that have erupted to produce spores.
For Macro Mondays theme 'Unusual Patterns'.
No rust fungus was harmed in the making of this photograph.
Sorry friends, but I suffered from a damned Covid19 infection, although I had a complete series of vaccinations. Now I'm better, but not really well! Will take its time to recover.
The sun is shining... yea... but I am not getting to enjoy it as I am fighting bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection. Seems with the rain and all that comes with it... mold.. mildew.. I was blessed to have avoided it this long... but saw the ENT doctor and he gave me meds and I will be better real soon. So for now staying in and resting and taking my Rx. My pharmacist who is a very special lady asked if I had had both pneumonia shots and I said I had had one. Then she proceeded to make me aware that about a year ago they came out with another one to be taken also and she recommended that when I am well that I get it given my history with bronchitis bouts. So maybe y'all already knew or maybe not but I just thought I would tell you so you can be aware of it's existence and take advantage of it too! And when I am well I will go back to her and get mine. Isn't it wonderful how God sends people into our lives to help us along the way!!
The SAMSON windmill is an open geared windmill. The SAMSON was a very good windmill but required relatively frequent lubricating because of its bearing design. The Samson windmill was made by the Stover Company was formed in 1881, in Freeport, Illinois, USA, although its principal Daniel C. Stover had been manufacturing and inventing various machinery from the 1860's. Windmills were not added to the company production list until 1883. Daniel Stover together with his brother, had patented a windmill in 1872, but sold the manufacturing rights. Windmills started in the United States in the mid 1800's when a new style of windmill was developed that comprised a small rotor set on top of a skeletal steel structure. At first these were using a few wooden blades, but soon became more technologically advanced, using steel blades that would fold back in very high winds to avoid damage to blades and any connected equipment. These were used primarily in the American West as water pumps to draw up water for cattle or crop irrigation.
Wishing y'all a blessed day and a HAPPY WINDMILL WEDNESDAY... HWW!!!!
There seems to be a theme in the woods today. Another downed tree, looking like a boney finger. Touching its tawny digit against the far bank, tainting it with its autumnal infection. At least that's how it seems in these fantastical woods.

"I got the first appt. at the vet's this morning because I started shaking my head like crazy last night. I should have done that outside where no one could see. And Dr. Bahou wasn't there but a nice woman vet who packed my ears which were both infected. NOT fun! But, I was a good girl and got to go to the park after with Mom. photo below:"

We send you our very best wishes for the festive season!
I want to thank you for all the beautiful and interesting photographs you posted.
Whatever you celebrate or how, this year will be different and often difficult, having to miss loved ones on important days in your calendar.
However nowadays we have so may ways of seeing and speaking to each other!
I remember, how years ago, I used to sigh and say, OH how I wish I could see you.... And now : WE CAN.
Of course it is by far not the same as pressing a dear family member in your arms, however, it is a good and sweet solution.
Take heart, try to smile a little more maybe, it can make you feel better and infect others.
At last an infection of the good kind.
All the very best, love to you, Magda, (*_*)

A Red Fox at Shirley's Bay Ottawa. It has a swelling and infection around it's eye. Probably was in a fight.
Stay strong Adelaide - the current quick harsh 6 day lockdown may do what it is designed and squash the Coronavirus outbreak I don't want to see your lovely city and people repeat what happened in Melbourne.
Christmas is coming soon and we will all want to be back on the beaches.
It just shows how quickly and how underground the infection can go before one is aware. There are continuing questions regarding Medi-Hotels ( another new 'word' for this year) but at least the quick, strong lockdown may be just what is needed to stop transmission.

Cortivermis Syndrome is a degenerative infection caused by the symbiotic parasite Cortivermis sanguinea, a filamentous organism that infiltrates neural and dermal tissues. Its name comes from Latin: cortex (brain) and vermis (worm). The pathogen’s life cycle centers around the cerebral cortex, where it intertwines with neural pathways, feeding on bioelectrical activity. Initial infection typically occurs through contact with contaminated organic material or aerosolized spores. Once inside the host, microscopic larvae migrate through the bloodstream and lodge in the capillary networks of the face and brain. Within 72 hours, the organism begins constructing a porous, coral-like bio-matrix across soft tissues — a structure that provides oxygen diffusion and electrical conductivity. This growth manifests externally as reddish lattice lesions, usually on one side of the face. By day 10, the infection reaches the frontal and temporal lobes. The parasite establishes a neural interface, effectively hijacking sensory inputs and emotional regulation. Victims report auditory distortions, metallic taste sensations, and heightened aggression. Advanced stages result in partial ossification of the parasite’s network — the “cortical shell” — where nerve signals are rerouted through foreign tissue, giving the illusion of dual consciousness. First recorded in 2143 CE after an outbreak in the Novaya Murmansk Research Zone, where a mycelial biofuel experiment went rogue. Over 300 researchers were quarantined; only 17 survived.

A misty morning with intentional blur. This is how Melbournians may be feeling as we learn today whether our lockdown is extended (Yes another 7 days until 10 June inclusive). Infections are being tracked to NSW and around into regional Victoria which is concerning.
So more vigilance and more vaccinations are the tasks for authorities today. For me, I am so rugged up against the cooler days and waiting it out, working from home and wandering the streets again for my daily exercise.
With a bit of wonderful Kerstin Frank texture.
