Indian Kathakali dance was performed by 12 year old Ms Varshini Hebbar at Alliance Francaise Bengaluru on World Dance Day 2016.
Inspired by the Global Village in Dubai, Delhi celebrated a month long Times Global Village 2007 festival in April. The shopping festival-cum-entertainment extravaganza showcased master craftsmen from India and abroad. The countries participating included the UAE, UK, South Africa, sub-Saharan countries, Pakistan, Turkey, Czech Republic, Egypt, Syria, Thailand and China.
A Rajasthani folk artist mesmerising the crowd with "Kachhi Ghodi" performance in Global Village festival, Noida. These folk artists are usually invited during major events and festivals to perform all over India.
Kachhi Ghodi is one of the most famous dance forms in Rajasthan and an exemplary folk art form. It brings out the vivid hues and the rustic charms of rural life in Rajasthan.
Kachi Ghoodi derives its name from the word Ghoodi meaning āmareā.
It is a sprightly dance where the men and women don costumes resembling horses and pretend to be cavalry soldiers or horsed bandits. The costume from hip down is a wooden horse and the footwork is coordinated with the beats of the drums and flutes to resemble the trotting movements of the horse rider.
Kathakali (Malayalam: ą“ą“„ą“ą“³ą“æ, kathakaįø·i; Sanskrit: ą¤ą¤„ą¤ą¤³ą¤æą¤, kathÄkaįø·iįø„) is a stylized classical Indian dance-drama noted for the attractive make-up of characters, elaborate costumes, detailed gestures and well-defined body movements presented in tune with the anchor playback music and complementary percussion.

Rujuta Soman a leading international Kathak Dancer from India. She is a disciple of Late Guru Dr.Rohini Bhate. She has obtained Diploma from Nritya Bharati Kathak Dance Academy and holds Masters Degree in Kathak from Pune University, as well as "Nritya Alankaar" from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva ...
She is the founder of Rujuta Soman Academy where she trains in pure classical Kathak.

In spite of several awards, medals and accolades that she has received in the field of design, she is most attracted to dance. In her performances one can see a serene surrender and worshipful devotion.
