We were fortunate to watch the beautiful display of 4th of July fireworks over the Hudson river, even though the views from our rooftop were partially obstructed by the waterfront buildings. It was my first time photographing fireworks using long exposure. I didn't have time to set the camera on a tripod; so I placed it on top of the HVAC unit and tried several shots. I truly enjoyed the long exposure images, which allowed for great flower-like patterns.
This photo was taken using ISO 125, f/10, 55mm with a 10 second exposure.
Took this yesterday in Portage Indiana near where I'd parked for the evening. Been busy, as usual. Went into another cavern a several days ago in Independence Missouri. Much tighter than the Carthage caverns. I'll post something from there sometime down the road. It was the most challenging cavern I've been in, lots of tight turns and pretty dark and creepy. Anyway, hope everyone is having a good week and weekend ahead.

I just want to share one of the interesting photos I've taken during the 4th of July weekend. No editing done here except for the resize and addition of a watermark.

Whatever else the Supreme Court may do, it cannot take away our right to celebrate our country’s beginnings. At least until the next election.
4th of July celebration, Cincinnati, Ohio 2021 though the fireworks actually took place July 2. This shot was taken from the Kentucky side of the Ohio River in Covington. The Cincinnati Reds had just defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-2 in the first game since Covid in which the stadium was packed. It was a glorious sight to see accompanied with the awesome cheers of the crowds blasting across the river from the stadium.
After a hot day the fireworks began to pop off after the Cincinnati Reds win against the Chicago White Sox ( stadium is to the left under the bridge ). Most of the crowd was waiting for the fireworks show around 10 but it didn't start until 11pm. It finally dropped down to the low 80s in temps at night, sky was clear and couldn't have been a better time for this to jump off.

Wishing all from the USofA a HAPPY, SAFE and a BLESSED Independence Day.
Father of all nations and ages,
we recall the day when our country
claimed its place among the family of nations;
for what has been achieved we give you thanks,
for the work that still remains we ask your help,
and as you have called us from many peoples
to be one nation,
grant that, under your providence,
our country may share your blessings
with all the peoples of the earth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
