Passionflower was used traditionally in the Americas and later in Europe as a calming herb for anxiety, insomnia, seizures, and hysteria. It is still used today to treat anxiety and insomnia. I am excluded:-)

It takes approximately 8 or 9 days for the worker bees to seal a queen cell. It takes 16 days for a queen to hatch, so maybe in about 7 days I will have a new virgin queen bee. I took a sharp knife and carefully extracted the cell from a frame inside the the hive and transferred it to an incubator. The incubator is programmed for the optimal temperature and humidity to hatch a queen. First time doing this, so lets see what happens. The queen cell looks like a small peanut and is made of wax. Inside the cell is royal jelly and a virgin queen bee larva.

Peter the Piping Plover is nesting over the four eggs while Polly was out foraging for crustaceans. From my observation, it appears that Peter was more attentive than Polly.

This building in Marshall became an art incubator in 2006. From what I read online though the incubator has moved to a different building downtown.
These visitors are very interested in baby dinosaurs in the incubator just after they hatched.
