Chimborazo is a currently inactive stratovolcano in the Cordillera Occidental range of the Andes. Its last known eruption is believed to have occurred around 550 AD.[5]
With a peak elevation of 6,268 metres (20,564 ft), Chimborazo is the highest mountain in Ecuador. It is the highest peak near the equator. Chimborazo is not the highest mountain by elevation above sea level, but its location along the equatorial bulge makes its summit the farthest point on the Earth's surface from the Earth's center.
The morning marine layer slowly lifts, revealing a scene abundant in bird and marine life as the Pigeon Point Lighthouse quietly surveys the action. It's been years since this old lighthouse has leant it's beams to guide the sailors home. But it's none-the-less for it's inactivity.

Strokkur is Iceland’s most visited active geyser. One of the three major attractions on the world-famous Golden Circle sightseeing route, it is usually visited alongside Gullfoss Waterfall and Þingvellir National Park.
Strokkur is found in the Geysir Geothermal Area, titled after the Great Geysir, which lent its name to all others across the world. It is the greatest active geyser on site; Geysir itself is in a period of inactivity. Strokkur erupts more regularly than Geysir ever did, blasting water to heights of around fifteen to twenty metres every five to ten minutes, although it is known to reach up to fort

This is my fav castle in Sweden.
It is built as a fairy tale castle, where princes and prinessor would live. Located high on a hill, and before it was surrounded by a lake.
It is still fascinating, but now a museum.

Thanks to the gardener - groundskeeper in the Anton Mountains not only did he find us the Spectacled Owl, but he also found us the rarely seen Tody Motmot.
The Tody Motmot is a small infrequently seen bird that is usually quite inactive. In our case we had to crawl across the forest floor to approach him; then I used a tree as my camera brace and tried the shot several ways to try and lower the high ISO.

Looking back of the year, I realized that I was very inactive in Flickr in 2019. Greatly thanks to Flickr friends who still come to visit my Photostream, giving me favorites and comments. In the last day of this year I decided to post my 3rd picture for 2019 as a closing. Wish you all a happy New Year 2020!!

In Sikhism the five thieves are kaam (lust), krodh (rage), lobh (greed), moh (attachment) and ahankar (conceit). It is the primary aim of the practising Sikh to subdue these five inner vices and render them inactive.

Kayseri (Turkish pronunciation: [ˈkajseɾi]) is a large industrialised city in Central Anatolia, Turkey.
Kayseri is located at the foot of the inactive volcano Mount Erciyes that towers 3,916 metres (12,848 feet) over the city. The city is often cited in the first ranks among Turkey's cities that fit the definition of Anatolian Tigers. Anatolian Tigers (Turkish: Anadolu Kaplanları) is a term internationally used in the context of the Turkish economy to refer to and to explain the phenomenon of a number of cities in Turkey which have displayed impressive growth records since the 1980s, as well as to a defined new breed of entrepreneurs rising in prominence and who can often be traced back to the cities in question and who generally rose from the status of small and medium enterprises.
The city retains a number of historical monuments, including several from the Seljuk period. While it is generally visited en route to the international tourist attractions of Cappadocia, Kayseri has many attractions in its own right: Seljuk and Ottoman era monuments in and around the city centre, Mount Erciyes as a trekking and alpinism centre, Zamantı River as a rafting centre, and the historic sites of Kültepe, Ağırnas, Talas and Develi. Kayseri is served by Erkilet International Airport and is home to Erciyes University.

And the whitish “thing” in the foreground isn’t water or snow, either!
This looks like a cataclysmic view, but is in fact “just” the now abandoned grounds of an old copper mine in Southern Portugal (Minas de São Domingos, Alentejo, Portugal).
The mine was deactivated about 60 years ago. The buildings are in ruins and many of them have already partially collapsed, creating a dantesque setting, with the remains of the facilities surrounded by coloured red and brownish earth, which are the result of the copper ore and the processes used for its extraction.
The white material seen in the foreground is kind of a white pasty sand, also originated by the mine’s activity and which still prevails in the landscape, even after six decades of the mine’s inactivity. A stark reminder that man’s actions on nature aren’t easily reversed…

While exploring Washington State back roads, I came across this abandoned silver mine known as the Old Ruby (Pyrargyrite) Mine. Along with the mill there are several other buildings on the property, maintenance shop, blacksmith shop and forge, office, bunkhouse and powder magazine. The mill is empty now, and so is the powder magazine.
For reasons I don’t understand, the burrowing owls have been much more inactive than in the past, even with many beaks to feed. Fortunately, the nest where I stationed myself finally produced some action and a few bugs were brought in. Here’s one of the adults, I can’t recall if it was the male or female, but more often it’s the male, coming home with a caterpillar. (Athene cunicularia)

A photographer's favorite.
A small wood framed, Gothic Revival building, it is quite straightforward in design, with a small narthex at the front of the rectangular nave, a small bell tower over the entrance and a small altar extending out the rear. The bell tower is of interesting design, rising out of the gable of the narthex, with a shingled steeple like a little brown helmet, surmounted by a wooden cross. The belfry vents, with gable tops, are open all around, exposing the 26 inch bell which still hangs within. The building is clad entirely in shingles, many of which are now coming adrift, indicating its recent years of inactivity. All openings are rectangular, lacking Gothic arches, doubtless concessions to economics and the need to complete the church in a timely fashion.
Spences Bridge is a community in the Canadian province of British Columbia, situated 35 km north east of Lytton and 44 km south of Ashcroft. I visited the pond, and originally, things seemed pretty inactive - just a few pied billed grebe floating. But then I noted the light spot in a small tree on the far side of the pond. Using the telephoto, I saw that it was the night heron, perched. I took several shots of it, happy to see it, then this great blue heron photo-bombed it Other shots of the black-crowned night heron to come.
There is red lettering on the blue door that says T & S Complete Customs, LLC. I think it has been vacant for a year because the driveway into it is now a field. I thought this was a school at first because it is a long building with a lot of windows on the side. The only way to see the side is to go to the nearest side street and look back through people’s yards. It is hidden by a lot of brush as well. I don’t know what kind of custom work they did here. There are no big garage doors for working on cars. Although there is a company called T& S Brass that makes faucets, brass fittings and other plumbing parts. I did find that this location was filed as an LLC in 2019 and in 2022 went on inactive status.

When newly emerged, the Ringlet has a velvety appearance and is almost black, with a white fringe to the wings. The small circles on the underwings, which give the butterfly its name, vary in number and size and maybe enlarged and elongated or reduced to small white spots; occasionally they lack the black ring. They are a dark brown butterfly and similar to male Meadow Brown.
Bramble and Wild Privet flowers are favourite nectar sources, and adults continue to fly with a characteristic bobbing flight in dull, cloudy conditions when most other butterflies are inactive.
This widespread butterfly has extended its range in England and Scotland in recent years. Widespread on damp grassland throughout Britain and Ireland.

Well since I'm soaking wet, I'd like to say that I've been pretty inactive and haven't had any Lego motivation at all. I've been focusing on other things. I'll try to post a scene tomorrow for D-Day but I probably won't post much, maybe once a week? Idk
While strolling through the long and dark passages, I turn around and I was enchanted by this view. Like I got lost in the dark distance. Due to the horrible things happend there, this felt like magic.
Fort Eben-Emael is an inactive Belgian fortress located between Liège and Maastricht, on the Belgian-Dutch border, outside the village of Ében-Émael. It was designed to defend Belgium from a German attack across the narrow belt of Dutch territory in the region. Constructed in 1931–1935, it was reputed to be impregnable and at the time, the largest in the world. The fort was neutralized by glider-borne German troops (85 men) on 10 May 1940 during the WW2. The action cleared the way for German ground forces to enter Belgium, unhindered by fire from Eben-Emael. Still the property of the Belgian Army, the fort has been preserved.

The Meadow Brown is the most abundant butterfly species in many habitats. Hundreds may be seen together at some sites, flying low over the vegetation. Adults fly even in dull weather when most other butterflies are inactive.
Regional variations in the spotting pattern on the wings have led to it being studied extensively by geneticists over many years. Larger forms occur in Ireland and the north of Scotland.
It is one of our most widespread species, but many colonies have been lost due to agricultural intensification.
