Try as I might to keep it together
Why is recovery taking forever?
Fool the whole world, just until I get better
I'm terrified I'll be faking forever
On and on I wonder what went wrong inside my head
I don't have to have the answers, but tonight I wish I did
All the pain I can't explain away won't fade...

Too lazy and tired (of everything) to add credits this time (but ask if you want to know something), BTW the amazing bruises are by La Malvada Mujer. You know that if you want to look beaten for good Faina is your answer. <3
Happy Bokeh Wednesday y'all!
Flickr colors in this one, huh? ;-)

I love her
Til the end of the world
My family hates her
Until death
“She is not your type”
“She is ugly”
“She's too eccentric”
Did they say...
They were against the wedding
But...
I can't let her go
We are soulmates
And have the same preferences,
The same disorder ...
And when my family didn't want to come to the wedding
And wanted to cast me out
I killed them
Beheaded them
And hung their heads at our wedding
So they could all see us
As we walked to the altar
It was the saddest
And yet
The best day of my life
My Wedding
Well, today I had a spring cleaning virus. Yep, I cleaned my house like an alien had taken over my body. I always keep things CLEAN, but not always free of clutter. Today I cleaned out other closets, flipped mattresses, cleaned carpets, scrubbed floors on my hands and knees making sure all hidden dirt was washed up, and any other ridiculous act of cleanliness you can think of. But most of all I sorted through the clutter and found homes for things that have never had a home.
I am also a *single mom* this week. Mike is in Virginia looking at houses for the move in June. Since we're buying again to add to our rental property collection it seemed best to send him ahead so we can get the painfully slow mortgage process started before we even get there. I'm not a fan of living in hotels while waiting on the bank. Once this part of the process is over I can relax and enjoy the last 2 months we're here. I really do like this area and hope we retire here when Mike retires. I'm pretty sure this is where I'd like to call home.
Anyway, I'll be MIA most of this week since I'll be driving to Kentucky to spend the week and weekend with my family, and then Easter Sunday in Nashville with Mike's family. I'm SO looking forward to the week in Kentucky and spending some much needed time with my sisters. The one thing I've hated about the military lifestyle is being away from both of them. Jenny and I have a connection that is insanely close, even across the miles, but it's not the same to get a phone call or to make one when you feel something going on. Sissy, I miss you! See you on Wednesday!!
Wish me luck that I make the drive safe and sound. It will be me, the 2 girls, a dog, and a butterfly house with 4 chrysalises that haven't yet turned to butterflies. Not to mention that Alex hasn't been on a road trip since potty training a month ago. I hope we make it in one piece and with no peepee accidents in the car. Any thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated, LOL! (and yes, I'm packing Alex's training potty in the car *just in case* we have to stop on the side of the road...... If I pack it we won't need it, if I DON'T we absolutely will. I'm not tempting fate. Not this time.)

Today is the yardsale in my neighborhood and I woke up at around 6 o'clock when it was still dark, and I heard my parents rummaging through the house taking stuff outside. I decided to go back to bed because I was too tired to help just yet. 2 hours later I wokeup, and was going to go back to bed but I decided not to because I knew tonight I wouldn't be home to take a photo at golden hour. At 8 this morning when I woke up, there was the morning golden hour so I went outside, took this half asleep and with my braided bedhead. I seriously didn't know what I was doing. But now I'm awake and I'm fine. :)
Wow! Thank you so much everyone for giving me 300,000+ views! :D

a photo from a rly long time ago of me testing the focus and/or making a stupid face, edited and posted mainly because i have extremely poor judgment at 3:11am and i miss taking photos at golden hour (not really but ya know)

Today I spent most of the morning preparing for an interview and then most of the afternoon attending it. By the time I got home I had no inspiration to go outdoors for my daily shot, so ended up taking some flowers we got for our anniversary. I wasn't happy enough with any of the shots to present on their own merit, so decided to mess about with processing. I'm just about fed up and tired right now and this is all I've got to show for it! :-(
Friday's almost here though, so plenty of reasons to be happy! :-)

So I was too busy yesterday to do a 365, so I thought I'd do something interesting for today. I'm hoping now that I'm free from school I'll have time to explore and do more shoots outdoors. Indoors is oh so boring.
Don't forget to check out the show!

From an old shoot. I just really wanted to post one up in color. I know I should've posted in comments; but I like to read what you guys think of it. So, what do you think?
I'll write more in my next post :)
You know I love you,
CTB :)
I was going to make the first tag about how that's what is written on Kurt Vonnegut's tombstone but someone had already beaten me to the tags. But by changing the title to that quote from what was there temporarily when I first upped it, I ruined their fun. Sometimes you just can't win.
So here is sad little post-apocalyptic teddy providing us a Bench Monday shot of holocaustic proportions. Yes, that is a word. I couldn't write it down if it wasn't.
The settings I used to process this are now available as a free download. You can find the 'Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt' preset available for Lightroom and ACR / Photoshop right here (scroll to the bottom or download all six presets at once).

Today's episode brings us to a field on a cold morning. Visiting three friendly deer we get to witness their time foraging for food and the heart felt moments between a doe and her eldest fawn. These heartfelt moments I hold near and dear to me. I am happy that I get to share them with you, and I hope that you enjoy the longest 'Welcome to Existing' created to date.

How to make shots like these:
*) Leaving work early to find pink Q-tips
*) Searching in at least three shops for them (where are all those pink q-tips if you need them?!)
*) Heading for photography class
*) Coming home at 10pm
*) Carrying home a 30kg package (with your brand new studio lights)
*) Trying to set up those studio lights (feeling as dumb as never before doing it)
*) Eating some chocolate to calm down
*) Trying to to set up the studio lights again, this time correctly
*) Searching for some beer because you don't have any more chocolate
*) Arranging 100 Q-tips on your table (quite challenging when its midnight already and you drank some beer)
*) Swearing as loud as you can (your neighbours need to know about that f.... q-tips that fell off the f.... table)
*) Drinking more beer
*) Making some shots standing in your pyjamas on your dining table
*) Trying to edit some pictures in the middle of the night
*) Going to bed at 1.30am
*) Beeing terribly late for work the next day
*) Hoping that this counts for this week's pretty pink Tuesday theme (geometric pink)
“Creativity is essentially a lonely art. An even lonelier struggle. To some a blessing. To others a curse. It is in reality the ability to reach inside yourself and drag forth from your very soul an idea.”

Where I still am no matter how hard I convince myself
And I can't stop this sobbing

I don't want that for her
She's only 6
She's the same age I was
I can't see myself in her

I have such a huge headache, I don't want to write but i'm going to.
I don't have much to say cept' for a few important things. For one, BRAD PAISELY IS ON THURSDAY. Honestly, I picked out my cowgirl outfit already and i'm going insane. I'm so excited to sing real loud and just have a good time. Score. Secondly, this weekend is a long weekend.. finally. I'm so sick of coming to school already. Some people just annoy the hell out of me, boo.
I don't want to write alot, cause looking at the screen is shooting a terrible pain into my temples (lol) so, i'm going to relocate myself to my big comfy bed.
Peace Flicksters,

HBW first of all.
Second, I submitted a photo to this "artistic journal" their first issue and I was PUBLISHED.
They were asking for character based black and whites. I submitted two and this is the one that they chose.

I was surprised, technically it's BAD, there are blown highlights, yadda yadda but I suppose it had what they were looking for.
This is my copy that I received on Monday, Conclave Journal...
I'm in the table of contents, on my "page" in the back, a little bio and on the back as a contributor.
Yay me. :D

I love how I edited this. I HATE how grainy this is..terrible. I didn't really like any that I took though :(
I took these with Nick. Everyone was staring. We developed creeps who stared us down. Ya know. This wasn't a very private place. Infact..we took this like 2 minutes away from a concert, so yeahhhh.
I really gotta shower well tonight..that water was gross.
I had wanted to take lots of pictures this autumn -- of colors, colors, and more colors... Didn't quite happen that way. It was all too fast. Two weeks of wind, rain: the trees are bare now.

I have wanted to take a shot like this for some time. I previously posted a shot of this building in the blue hour. All I needed was the weather to cooperate with a low cloud ceiling and some movement. Last night it did!
