In an effort to improve the care for those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), the Autism Commission held its first meeting on September 29, 1015. Chaired by Secretary Marylou Sudders, the Commission – comprised of autism experts, providers, advocates and state leaders - reviewed the mission and agenda enacted by the Legislature in 2014 continuing an effort to improve and expand treatment, resources and insurance coverage for individuals with ASD.

After spending a year or so piling grass and other garden matter in a big heap, we finally installed a compost bin at the bottom of the garden. We even lifted up the abandonned fence panel that has been slowly rotting underfoot and planted some grass seed (unlikely to grow before next spring, but what the hey). We discovered that our grass heap has started turning in to compose in the intervening months. Most of it is still piled up next to the bin; we will fork it in to the composter bit by bit as we add other stuff. We even bought a bit of trelllis to fill in a gap in the back fence to try to make it all look a little less like a horrible mess.

The motor was hanging a bit too low so I put a small rubber o-ring under the screw. That fixed it :)

Improved Health of Women and Adolescent Girls in Situations of Vulnerability (IHWAG) Project Review of Best Practices in Guyana.
The purpose of this mission to Guyana is with the primary objective of gathering audiovisual materials that highlight best practices and demonstrate the positive impact of the IHWAG Project in Guyana. This is in line with the visibility and advocacy objectives of the Project as it nears its conclusion in 2025.
This review of best practices is a joint effort between the PAHO Guyana Country Office, the IHWAG Project Management Team, the PAHO Communications Department (CMU), and the Latin American Center for Perinatology, Women and Reproductive Health (CLP)
The IHWAG Project would like to showcase the achievements made particularly in Georgetown and in Region 9 with respect to the implementation of the SIP+. In consultation with national counterparts, the collection of a three-to-four-minute story-based video, photographs, and testimonies are key to achieving this objective. It is anticipated that these materials will be included in the final communications product of the Project, a digital logbook.
