Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Looking close on Friday is « one single candle ». I’m not a candle person at all (apparently it isn't that common since the majority of ladies like candles according to I dont know who but I'm sure that is some kind of "true facts" about women...), maybe I'm just not a romantic person... If there is one thing I dont hoard, candles are it… Luckily for me I found an old blue (yes !!) birthday candle to photograph. Can you find the imposter ??

I hope you like it my friends.

Stay well and safe !! Have a beautiful Friday !! And see you later !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

The Racetrack at Death Valley National Park is an amazing location well known for its strange moving rocks. This is not there - this is in the Utah high west desert.

I came upon a single line ground depression with no idea of what caused it, and my mind thought of the Racetrack. So then began a hunt for a rock to drop into the scene. The line runs to the bottom of the frame, so I had to Photoshop move around the foreground in a giant jigsaw puzzle to complete the illusion.

The partial bright "orb" looked a lot like the sun, but can't fool anyone once the real thing made its appearance behind the trees!

Wishing you a very good day and night!

♫ I don't want to be anything

Other than what I've been trying to be lately

All I have to do is think of me and I have peace of mind

I'm tired of looking around rooms wondering what I gotta do

Or who I'm supposed to be

I don't want to be anything other than me

I'm surrounded by liars everywhere I turn

I'm surrounded by imposters everywhere I turn... ♫

After a few moving weeks and understanding sponsors, I can finally slowly return to my hobby.

Saturnalia opened its doors to everyone a few days ago. I can only tell you that the diversity is worth it. Those who like imagination will get their money's worth here! With this post I want to show you some of my favorite pieces from this event that I paired with some things from my favorite sponsors to create something dark.

Oh and before I forget.. the make up was done by myself especially for this Outfit and will be released in the next weeks <3

I wish a wonderful Thanksgiving to all of my amercian friends out there.

And to follow the tradition even when we don´t have it in france I want to say that I am greatful for every single one of you who supports me! You are the reason why I am still doing this and feel the joy to share something that fills me up with happieness.

Hopefully everyone of you awesome people has a great day or night! <3

Enjoy!

Great Western Railway's 43078 reappears from Crewkerne tunnel into the February sunshine while working the diverted 1103 Paddington to Plymouth service.

Crewkerne tunnel is part of the former double track London & South Western Railway mainline from Waterloo to Exeter and onwards to north Devon and Cornwall.

This view of the western tunnel entrance had been obscured by vegetation for decades, but clearance in late 2018 revealed this view once more.

Depending on how you look at things one of these fruit is pretending to be a pear--or, two pears are pretending to be a tangello. When I saw this unusually shaped orange in the store, I knew I had to photograph it with other fruit. All made for a lovely fruit salad! : )

This scene reminds me of shows back in the day like "Front Page Challenge" or "???" (can't remember the name of the show) where panelists had to guess who the hidden person was, or who among 3 guests was the real whomever, after asking whatever questions they could to suss out the truth.

West Virginia Scenic's "Chesapeake and Ohio" F7 7094 was in Elkins waiting to take off on former Western Maryland tracks.

It looks pretty good for a "fake" paint job since the F7 was built for the Milwaukee Road.

Imported decades ago in the hope of controlling aphids, these Asian Lady Beetles are not true ladybugs at all. In fact, they multiply better than rabbits, and are considered to be one of the world's most invasive species. They are detrimental to native ladybugs. Very difficult to identify because of their variations in dots and colour, the tell-tale sign of an Asian Lady Beetle is that (POV) "M" or "W" on the head.

I'd lost track of the 2 Fieldfares I was tracking and then moved onto a nearby group of Starlings. I didn't notice until I transferred my bounty that one had hung around and joined the crew!

A return to the RSPB site at Bempton in hope to see some interesting wildlife, a few Razor Bills, one Puffin and a hundred thousand or so Gannets. The smell is a touch powerful and noise is incredible, well worth a visit for beautiful coastal views and, if you're into that kind of thing, lots and lots of sea birds

after 3 years of thinking it was plastic, it finally realized it had living cells and shot up 1/4 inch last week. but no rush.

Every year many people are taken aback as they see in their garden what appears at first sight to be a hummingbird hovering among the flowers. A careful check of the size and a closer look unmasks this imposter as a hummingbird hawkmoth, Macroglossum stellatarum.

The hummingbird hawkmoth is a day-flying moth with a wingspan of about two inches (50-58mm). It has a brown, white-spotted abdomen, brown forewings and orange hindwings. It is very swift on the wing and an expert hoverer. The wings beat so rapidly that they produce an audible hum and can be seen only as a haze. The darting movement from one flower to the next with the long proboscis uncoiled completes the illusion of a hummingbird. Another day-flying moth, the Silver Y, is often confused with the hummingbird hawkmoth, but is smaller and darker.

The hummingbird hawkmoth is abundant and resident all around Mediterranean countries, and across Central Asia to Japan. Its migratory habits are well documented, with many thousands regularly migrating northward in Europe in the spring. There is also evidence of a return migration in the autumn.

Western Maryland never owned any GP30s but the Western Maryland Scenic does. GP30 501 is painted in WMRY colors despite being former Conrail/Penn Central/Pennsylvania.

WM colors really fit the GP30 design.
