On August 3rd, IOM and USAID representatives travelled to Piis, an island at the edge of the Chuuk Lagoon, to distribute food and conduct damage assessments as part of USAID and IOM’s Typhoon Maysak response effort. The group distributed 664 cases of corn, 239 50lbs. sacks of rice, and 42 cases of vegetable oil as supplemental food assistance provided by USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance.
