Implemented by UNDP, the RFS Nigeria project aims to foster sustainability and resilience for food security in Northern Nigeria through addressing key environmental and socioeconomic drivers of food insecurity.
he Grant Contract between Expertise France and the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) establishes a partnership for the implementation of a new Handisport component under the Basketball Experience project, aimed at promoting inclusion and education for children with special needs in Kenya; Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado and Kiambu. The project aims to purchase basketball equipment and renovate the existing Basketball courts. The project will work with a total of 36 schools: 13 for the physically challenged, 13 for the hearing impaired, and 10 for the visually impaired.
Funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) through Expertise France, the project has a total grant value of €350,000. Implementation will run for 14 months from November 2025 to December 2026, with KRCS as the implementing beneficiary under the supervision of Expertise France.
The financing arrangement includes a 30% initial pre-financing, subsequent instalments based on validated progress and reports, and a 10% balance payable upon final audit approval. Both parties commit to adhering to the Expertise France Code of Conduct, environmental and social safeguard measures under the PEES, and relevant anti-corruption and financial compliance frameworks.

Piura: Gobierno refuerza apoyo a afectados en Lobitos con la entrega de 6 toneladas de ayuda humanitaria

Con el firme compromiso de atender a la población afectada en el distrito de Lobitos, región Piura, el Gobierno desplegó una comitiva de alto nivel para entregar seis toneladas de ayuda humanitaria.
La delegación estuvo conformada por el ministro de la Producción, Sergio González; el ministro del Ambiente, Juan Carlos Castro; la ministra de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, Úrsula Chempén; y el ministro de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento, Durich Wittembury. Los funcionarios supervisaron la distribución de alimentos, agua potable, kits de higiene y otros insumos esenciales para las familias. Además, evaluaron medidas para mitigar los impactos ambientales y económicos en la zona.
Durante la jornada, el ministro de la Producción, Sergio González, destacó la importancia de esta acción y reafirmó el compromiso del Ejecutivo con los afectados.
“Estamos trabajando de manera articulada para atender de inmediato a la población afectada. Nuestro compromiso es no solo brindar apoyo humanitario, sino también impulsar medidas de recuperación económica para los pescadores y emprendedores de la zona”, afirmó el titular del PRODUCE.
Asimismo, junto con los demás ministros, anunció la implementación de acciones adicionales para la recuperación ambiental y económica del distrito, con énfasis en la reactivación del sector pesquero y turístico, principales actividades productivas de la zona.
El Gobierno ratifica su compromiso con la población de Lobitos y continuará implementando medidas para atender la emergencia y promover una recuperación sostenible en la región.
Entrega de créditos a pescadores
En otro momento, como parte de la reunión multisectorial para el impulso de actividades económicas, el ministro Sergio González realizó la entrega simbólica de cerca de 100 mil soles en créditos supervisados a pescadores artesanales afectados.
Esta entrega se enmarca en el Programa de Crédito Extraordinario aprobado por el Fondo Nacional de Desarrollo Pesquero (FONDEPES), con el objetivo de contribuir a la recuperación de la actividad de los pescadores artesanales. Además, responde al compromiso asumido por el titular del PRODUCE ante la comunidad pesquera de esta localidad del norte del país para impulsar la reactivación del sector.
El ministro González destacó que los créditos otorgados cuentan con una tasa de interés anual del 0 % y un plazo de pago de hasta 36 meses. Asimismo, incluyen un período de gracia de seis meses y no requieren amortización inicial.
“El día de hoy estamos aprobando un programa crediticio especial para los pescadores del norte de nuestro país, que han sido afectados por las lluvias, por los oleajes anómalos, por distintas vicisitudes que ha tenido este año la pesca artesanal”, señaló el ministro Sergio González.

Finalmente el ministro de la Producción resaltó que se trabajará de manera conjunta con el Gobierno Regional de Piura los estudios para contar un desembarcadero en la región acorde a las normas sanitarias. “Impulsaremos la creación de cámaras de frío, productores de hielo, con zona de tareas previas, grande que fomente la pesca artesanal” puntualizó.
