Implanté dans l’un des sites les plus pittoresques de la vallée de la Vilaine, le moulin du Boêl revêt une forme d’étrave de navire fendant le courant, très fort à cet endroit.
L’ancienne écluse (XVIe siècle) se trouvait entre la rive gauche et le moulin.
Construit en 1652, il est muni de solides contreforts et possédait à l’origine deux roues à aubes, aujourd’hui disparues.
Pour Claude Marboeuf, seigneur de Laillé, le moulin construit sur ses propriétés était une source de revenus, par l’obligation qu’il faisait à ses vassaux de l’utiliser.
En 1886 il devient la propriété d’un meunier. On continua d’y moudre le blé jusqu’à la guerre de 14-18.
En 1962, une violente tempête endommagea le site. La Municipalité s’attacha alors à sa reconstruction en partenariat avec une association bruzoise, « Le Moulin des Apprentis », puis « Les Amis du Boël ».
Actuellement, le moulin est propriété de la Ville de Bruz.

La fortification originelle du site actuel remonte à la fin du haut–moyen âge : l’implantation géographique de Pouancé, situé à la frontière de l’Anjou et du Haut-Maine, et surtout aux confins de cette zone sensible que furent les marches de Bretagne, a joué un rôle stratégique de première importance, face à la place forte bretonne de Châteaubriant.
Sentinelles avancées de l’Anjou face à la Bretagne, les hautes tours de cette «Forteresse de conséquence» gardent la mémoire des guerres fratricides entre Angevins et Bretons, entre Français et Anglais, les chevauchées épiques de Bertrand Du Guesclin, Jean II d’Alençon- le compagnon de Jeanne d’Arc- et d’autres seigneurs .
Pouancé a bien évidemment connu la terrible et meurtrière Guerre de Cent Ans. Les troupes bretonnes du vicomte de la Bellière investissant Pouancé en 1379. L’armée du duc Jean V assiégeant la forteresse pouancéenne durant 52 jours en 1432 et les anglais du Duc de Somerset, las de la résistance des Pouancéens en 1443, levèrent le siège après un nombre de semaines qui varie de 2 à 8 selon les historiens.
Le château de Pouancé, construit du XIIIe au XVe siècle, couvre trois hectares, repose sur une assise schisteuse qui domine l’étang de Saint Aubin et la vallée de la Verzée, donnant à ce site un aspect des plus grandioses.
Le vieux château est un monument remarquable de l’art militaire du Moyen-âge : salles basses, caponnières, portes et poternes composent avec les imposantes murailles de ce château des XIII et XV e siècle, un exceptionnel ensemble médiéval. De la même façon, l’entrée au château, marquée par la présence de la Tour Porche (Tour du XVème siècle) est un élément architectural intéressant.
Il subsiste encore six tours avec courtines, poternes, caponnières, des vestiges de bâtiments, et les remparts du XVème siècle qui complétaient le système défensif et protégeaient la cité. Aujourd’hui, des travaux de consolidation et de restauration sont en cours pour enrayer la dégradation du site. Désormais, a succédé aux armées bretonnes et anglaises le flux des touristes.

Cannon Ball Tree - At the corner of rue Saint-Louis and du Corps de Garde, a tree stands like an old soldier with a war wound, buried in its trunk is a reminder of a past battle there for all to see. A cannon ball is implanted inside its trunk. Whether it was shot directly into it is a matter of some speculation, but the fact that it's so firmly imbedded leads one to wonder just how it got there.
Le lieu symbolique d’implantation appelait un geste architectural fort, d’où l’idée de CoopHimmelb(l)au de répondre au projet culturel du musée par la combinaison de trois unités architecturales : le Cristal, le Nuage et le Socle.
Le cristal
Le Cristal, d’une surface de 1 900 m², est l’espace dédié à l’entrée du public et à la circulation des visiteurs. Sous ses 33 mètres de verrière, c’est le lieu des rencontres et des échanges, qui permet d’accéder au Nuage. Tour de force architectural, le Puits de Gravité sert d’appui central pour soutenir les structures métalliques et stabilise le Cristal.
The symbolic place of implantation called for a strong architectural gesture, from which CoopHimmelb's (1) idea was to respond to the cultural project of the museum by combining three architectural units: the Crystal, the Cloud and the Socle.
The crystal
The Crystal, with a surface area of 1,900 m², is the space dedicated to public entry and visitor traffic. Under its 33 meters of glass, it is the place of meetings and exchanges, which allows access to the Cloud. Architectural tour de force, the Gravity Well serves as a central support to support the metal structures and stabilizes the Crystal.
I intentionally rotated the image by 180 degree so that the sky becomes the reflections on a lake and vice versa, in hope to explore the beauty of nature from a different perspective. With the sky continuously changing its colors into dusk, it seems better to put down the camera and simply enjoy the moment.
About 5 years ago when visiting Taiwan Taitung Luye Township (台灣台東縣鹿野鄉) green tunnel (綠色隧道), a road with both sides planted with Madagascar Almond, we lied down in the middle of the road to view the sky, trees, and mountains (also known as "Thousands of people lying" 千人躺). That position offers a very unique and beautiful reflections-like perspective, which implanted in my mind for so many years. Later, I found that lying down to view the firework or to view the starry night is truly a wonderful and exciting experience, especially together with dear friend.

Walking around Brockton MA, overwhelmed with memories from my youth. Spotted this old tricycle and immediately identified with it as maybe something from those old days, but then noticed the "Made in China" stamp, so it was an item manufactured to imitate some vintage object, and yet it too is rusting and unusable. Even our prefab fake memories are getting long in the tooth.

La rue du Bourg, rue principale de la cité médiévale de Gruyères, canton de Fribourg, Suisse.
De l’entrée sud du village, la rue bordée de vieilles maisons à fenêtres géminées, abritées sous de larges auvents, s’incline vers la fontaine communale avant de grimper à nouveau jusqu’à la chapelle du Calvaire et le château derrière.
Le château de Gruyères est situé à l’entrée de la vallée de l’Intyamon, sur un verrou glaciaire, d’où il domine la vallée moyenne de la Sarine des Préalpes fribourgeoises. Le château a été implanté sur cette colline haute de 115 mètres par rapport à la plaine environnante, ce qui lui conférait une position stratégique importante. Le château contrôlait ainsi l’accès à la vallée et permettait de surveiller les alentours. Construit au 11e siècle, d'après le plan très répandu du carré savoyard, le château fut habité sans discontinué par les comtes de Gruyères jusqu’au milieu du 16e siècle où le 19e compte du nom, ruiné, prit la fuite. Ces terres furent alors distribuées entre les seigneurs de Berne et de Fribourg. On retrouve le même plan de construction au château de Bulle ou à Chillon. Il est le deuxième château le plus visité de Suisse après le château de Chillon.
Devenu propriété de Fribourg, le château est ouvert au public depuis 1938, il propose une animation multimédia et des expositions temporaires en plus de la visite des salles et de son jardin. Gruyères, une petite cité fortifiée à l’abri de son château, ravit par son cachet aimable, évocateur de l’époque (du 12e au 16e siècles) où la vallée de la Sarine toute entière vivait sous la suzeraineté-bonhomme et gaillarde des comtes de Gruyères.

The Technicum, which was mainly designed between 1934 and 1938 as a complex of laboratories for the Special Schools, later the Faculty of Applied Sciences, of Ghent University, is a large complex with exemplary value, created according to architectural and structural concepts that met the aesthetic, pedagogical and experimental needs of the time, and this according to the designs of professor engineer architect Jean-Norbert Cloquet (1885-1961) in close collaboration with professor engineer Gustave Magnel (1889-1955), a world-famous pioneer in his field, including the experimental research of concrete structures and mortars, and prestressed concrete. In 1932, the university government decided to build new technical laboratories. The former Feyerick spinning mill was chosen as the building site, located at the intersection of Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat and Joseph Plateaustraat, a 1.5 ha site on the Scheldt bank, with a height difference of 17 metres and little load-bearing Scheldt alluvium. The site extends further behind the gardens of the houses on Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat to Hoveniersberg. This choice of site was mainly inspired by the proximity of the Special Schools and the Central Library to be built on Blandijnberg, without taking into account the consequences of a large-scale implantation close to the city centre and in the middle of a residential area.
In 1971 it was decided to build a new campus "Ardoyen" for applied sciences outside the city centre in Zwijnaarde. The buildings of the Technicum remain in use for various departments of the Faculty of Engineering. Microchip implant in humans have raised new ethical discussions by scientific professional forums, academic groups, human rights organizations, government departments and religious groups. Édifié sur une implantation romaine, au pied du versant nord de la Montagne Sainte-Victoire, le château dépendra des comtes de Provence puis de l’Église d'Aix. Il est lié à la mémoire du fameux Roi René, qui donnera le château et ses terres en 1474 à son médecin personnel, Pierre Robin d'Angers. Le château est propriété des descendants de cette dernière.
