We're not meant to be perfect
We're meant to be whole
You don't have to be perfect
We're human after all
We're not meant to be perfect
Cause I'm perfectly imperfect
It’s a glass with a small chip in it, what I didn’t realise is that there’s several imperfections within the glass too.
Thanks for stopping HMM
I did stand in the balcony for quite a long time to absorb all the beauties that day had to offer in silence and prayed with gratitude for the enormous gift, until the natural sunset lights almost faded and the city lights started appearing everywhere like breaking the silence in a very solemn moment.
I kept repeating dhikr in my heart- "Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allah-il-Azim" (Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allah-il-Azim" (Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection); almost like a reflex, and with the feeling as if the whole world had paused for the moment.
I went back to my old childhood days - the first days of falling in love with the beauties of the creations; where sunset skies were perhaps the most inspiratory of all other nature elements I was attentive to - the days when I used to enjoy the enchantments every day standing on the rooftop with the whole sky above me and wondering with fascination how much beauties can this little world within the great universe out there hold. The days were good; sweet and good ❤️
PS. I finished my journey with 'The Hobbit' and it kind of left an unexpressable heartache inside me. It was a great adventure, after all.
Well before Sat-Nav and GPS a gentleman needed an accurate guide to the country. Often small maps that could be taken with you on your travels would be used. Sydney Hall was a well known map-maker from the Victorian era and he produced many maps that were not too big that might be carried about with you.
In 1855, he published this ‘travelling atlas of the English Counties with all the railways’, about the size of an iPad mini!
There were 46 maps, all the counties of England, the Channel Islands, folding maps of Wales, Scotland and Ireland and a double-page general map of England and Wales. The maps are detailed and hand-coloured, with heights shown by shading or hachuring as well as including the canals and railways that existed then.
I bought this atlas in the late 70’s for about £20 as it was in a sorry state, that’s why I got it cheap as even then they were selling for several hundred pounds fully restored. At present, all the maps are loose as there is no spine although the back and front boards are present. The pages are yellowed often with some edge damage. I had intended to sell off the maps individually but decided to keep the collection together. It just needs a good restorer to work their magic on it. Do you know one?
For ‘Crazy Tuesday’, theme ‘Imperfection’.

Verbesserungsfähiges Foto vom Eisvogel - war aber froh überhaupt mal wieder einen vor die Linse zu bekommen
To finish up this "Sharp or Unsharp" series, the closing in on an object, from different angles, with different cameras and lenses, one photo digital the other argentic, a word so much better than the plain "analog".
For me, each image has its own charm, and I sometimes wonder if all this quest of mine has anything to do with "wabi-sabi", the Japanese school of thought in which beauty is to be found in imperfection
I would like to thank all for their precious input, their valuable feelings, opinions and suggestions. I guess it will be a while before I take it all in and, somehow, in the process, make it mine.
"Bem hajam" (be well) as people say here in Covilhã in the stead of "thank you".

It was tempting to clone out these dirt flecks on a pristine Bloodroot bloom. But I loved the character they gave to this plant. As a society, we try to cover up our freckles and imperfections so much when we should be confident in how real we look. This little bloom had to push through a lot of dirt to get to where it is now.

“Storm Emma” made a tree fall onto the roof with its huge branches penetrating through the roof and ceiling of the hall. The tip of the smaller slivered branches got stuck in the wall. There it removed the wall plaster. We call this very special piece:

these ladybugs were a perfect pair until the day I dropped one earring and then found it after I had stepped on it. It's red wings fell off and they were never the same again.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated. HMM
last night, we received a surprise thunderstorm, followed by intermittent sunshine. i took my camera into the backyard and found puddles on a neighbor’s basketball court. my first thought: what beautiful thing can i place in a puddle? then i saw this small, spotted, imperfect leaf illuminated by shrouded sunlight. rather than a manufactured image, i got real life, in all its imperfection. this is my preference: natural things in puddles; beauty in the flawed ordinary; peace in the stillness.
Something is wrong in this Line - the cute yellow Pencil seems to be imperfect! Crime Scene is under Investigation by the CSI Team from little world :)
