He was a person like others. He was a black youth. He studied Design&Mode, and he was an unemployed young man looking for a job. His father and his brothers are African musician. They sign, and they dance. They do not dance with wolves but with "black guys" and for "black guys". They sign with love and they struggle for human rights. He was a little bit sad, but the camera encourages his mode in some way. People are around him or behind him (see the background). They have someone to kiss, somewhere to work, somewhere to sleep, somewhere to travel, and so on. However, normally nobody cares about a lonely "black guy".

Leezia Dhalla

Hiding in Plain Sight: My Life as an Undocumented American

Four years ago, Leezia was almost deported. She learned she had unknowingly overstayed her visa during her junior year at Northwestern University, when the Department of Homeland Security mailed her a Notice to Appear in immigration court—essentially the first step in the deportation process. In this talk, Leezia delves into her personal experience as an undocumented American to explain why nearly 12 million immigrants choose to live in the United States without the social, economic, and legal protections afforded to documented residents. Her goal is to simplify the complexity of the immigration system so that people better understand what it means to be undocumented in America.
