The HDR feature is cool. Really handy for a lot of shots. The HDR effect is subtle and not strong.

Same landscape as Bluff 001, but this is essentially a visualization of the colors in the image, rather than a glitch.

FFT used to generate patterned dither and to decrease saturation nearly to 0. Finished in Photoshop, basically by setting thresholding to get a 1-bit PNG file.

Wavelet decomposition (Daubechies 1, 6 steps) of the grayscale version of a photo of the Cal Train logo.

 

The image is composed of the wavelet coefficient maps, showing the spatial frequency content at each pixel location. High frequencies are on the right/bottom and low frequencies on the left/top. Each decomposition produces three maps of wavelet coefficients at successively lower resolution, with a two-fold change at each step, plus the remaining image at the new resolution. This decomposition was stopped at the 16x16 image, the last step at which the remainder image still contains a recognizable representation of the original logo (view large).

 

This transform can be used in image denoising, data compression, and in accelerating data acquisition in MRI.

This is another atempt of creating my own dynamic range increasing algorithm using Python and PIL.

 

This time I tried to generate some kind of a map out of the 3 input images to mark which region and how much of this I want to have in my final image.

 

My script needs 3 parameters a Limit for black, a limit for white and a region of middletones.

With these values it creates such a map. Then the map gets blurred and the 3 input images get merged together exactly the way the map specifies.

 

I think there is still a lot to do, but this is probably the best idea I had so far and I think the results aren't that bad!

 

The script will be realesed under GNU/GPL on the-engine.at

A Fast Fourier Transform was used repeatedly on diagonally scanned blocks of pixels. Using a statistical analysis of the data in each block, the FFT boosted frequencies within two standard deviations of the mean and cut the outliers. This wood-blick like appearance resulted.

A zigzag scan of square blocks of varying pixel dimensions was glitched with interrupted pixel-sorting and color channel-swapping. Shows some of the typical artifacts generated by the zigzag scan, that sometimes show up in JPEG-compressed images.

It's one of those marble things, where you swing one marble into the group, and one pops out the other side. Made of PVC pipe, marbles, string, a little duct tape. Ingenious!

OCR is a method that recognizes the on paper words that are present on a physical document. OCR is generally used when processing documents that are printed in "normal" printer or typewriter fonts. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) No OCR software is 100% accurate. The accuracy of conversion depends on the quality of the original.
