My favorite season is not summer. It’s fall. Living for the day when this pandemic will be over & I was I’ll be on the plane to my happy place 💚 I love to read but books are not substitute for real life experiences (whatever they are). If I haven’t traveled how would I know that in this world exists a place that can make me 1000 times happier person ♥️♥️ . . . My heart bleeds for people who cannot travel for health reasons when they have a desire to do so.
I think about love all the time. What makes us fall in love with something or someone. So many choices, places & people and yet there are only select few that move us. Why is that ? Always tell my family if it wasn’t for my love for you guess where I would be living ? And then I think sometimes maybe this life here was never my life maybe my life was Italy. So many ppl move to Italy from Ukraine.
Today I had to cancel my tickets to Rome. And it’s sad. No, it’s very sad. But I’ll wait. And wait. And wait. And wait... I always believe that when you hope, love & wait eventually it comes back. It has no choice but to come back to you because you are the one who loves. And it doesn’t just apply to Rome. It applies to every hope, every dream, every love ! Years ago in Ukraine I got inspired by his cartoons. Today I get inspired by his philosophies. 💚
My heart breaks into pieces for Italy ... I cried this morning seeing latest news ... when this all be over already know where my next trip will be ♥️♥️♥️
My mom & I spent a lot of time arguing about my future profession back in 2000. She told me whatever I love can be turned into a hobby ... Today feeling tears building up in eyes made realize that in the end the decision we made was the right decision. I would feel like a coward right now watching everything from my home
For me, leaving Italy in the morning is always the hardest part. There's something about its windows that makes the morning light and air (in winter too) even more ethereal, reminding you that you’re leaving only to come back again. And that moment becomes a silent haiku and a bittersweet memory. 💛
Do you know that feeling ... the feeling of love ... when just thinking about “it” makes blood boil & run ... when memories overtake you & you just want over & over again into that euphoric state ... This is how I feel about Italy. About my cooking classes there. About perfect weather. About Rome. About physically being there again. About that day four years ago when I ran away from Austria to go to Rome & built so many friendships in 24 hours. When God willing all this will be over I know exactly where I want to be again ♥️ I want to be in Italy ! I want to be in Rome ♥️🌈
My last night in Rome was rainy to say the least. It was stormy & I was on top watching the overcast sky & skyline of my favorite city. Somewhat frightening & beautiful at the same time. Fast recovery my love, love you to pieces Roma ♥️
Just started a new book “Beneath A Scarlet Sky”. It’s a story about Italy under Mussolini’s control. Half biography half fiction. While visiting Rome in 2018 stopped by Mussolini’s home where he gave his speech. This year is the first time when I realised the true meaning of love sick. The meaning of missing something. And I know this is not the end of the world. And I know “everything passes and this shall pass” but still ...
Here are 5 key facts:
World's Smallest Country: At just over 100 acres, it's the smallest sovereign state by both area and population, functioning as an absolute monarchy led by the Pope.
Home to Priceless Art & History: It houses major religious and cultural sites like the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica (built over St. Peter's tomb), and the Vatican Museums, containing vast collections of famous artworks.
Unique Sovereignty: It issues its own passports, license plates, stamps, and currency (Euros) and has its own media, flag, and anthem, all while generating revenue from tourism and sales, not taxes.
Protected by the Swiss Guard: This elite military unit, founded in 1506, has protected the Pope and the Holy See for centuries, famous for their Renaissance-style uniforms.
Astronomical & Linguistic Quirks: The Vatican operates its own observatory (with a telescope in Arizona) and features the world's only ATM with instructions in Latin
I’ve learned that nothing in life is easy. Even traveling. Sometimes you have to hit your head against the wall at least ten times. I really miss Rome. Miss its streets, food, cooking lessons, espresso, language. Can’t wait for the day when get to go back but for now stay strong & safe ♥️♥️♥️ No words can describe my love for that place ♥️♥️
Browsing through photos to find inspiration to write an essay because being sick with temp & chills my inspiration is at 0. Italian photos (or memories) never fail...
our biggest #misfortune is not being able to realize when we are #happyhappy and life gives is that happiness ... our biggest #fortune is after we lost (or almost) lost it to get that #happiness back ... #sunrise in #rome ♥️ ... Every place I’ve ever been to has my heart but there are four places that are even more special to me; New York, San Francisco, Jerusalem and Rome. So many times I wanted to take my canon & tripod, walk around and just shoot till get it right. I never did ! If life will eventually give me another chance that’s exactly what I will do. Now I know why walls in my home are still empty. The right moment never really came, yet !
My fav place in Rome... After seeing this place on TV at 14, it was always my dream to go there. It turned out to be everything I expected and much more
I can lose myself in books, music, nature, places, photos, museums, and history—just about anything and everything. My mind shuts off to everything else, and I fully immerse myself in the moment. Sometimes (often), I become an annoyance to the people around me because, unless they are actively engaging with me, my brain tends to block them out. This isn’t intentional; I’m simply in love with all the little things this world has to offer. I'm in love with Rome! I'm in love with Italy! And I miss Europe!
When I travel or read wish life was endless just to have enough time to see & learn as much as possible ♥️
I have photographic memory. The truth is I don’t even need photos to remember events that matter to me. I can recall every move & every sound ❤️
Life is already a gift… sometimes it comes with bonuses that carry love. 💝 My life is X1000 happier because Italy and its memories are in it. I'll admit that to form a bond with a place, I need to share a memory with someone. Not Rome… Not Italy… It’s a bond of its own. P.S. I can't even write this paragraph without getting watery eyes! Roma♥️💖 My dream is to see Andrea Bocelli in Italy in 30th anniversary tour in 2026.
