On a rare day of almost clear skies, private owned Class 37 loco 37418 'An Comunn Gàidhealach' heads west from Kirkham & Wesham with the Blackpool Illuminations Explorer. It leads the Vintage Trains charter from Birmingham New Street to Blackpool North, allowing its passengers to catch both the day at the coast and the illuminations at night.

Wishes is a great nighttime event at the Magic Kingdom (with the best fireworks), but Illuminations is still my favorite all around show at WDW. This shot was taken from the front of the house (best view, IMO) and close to the end of the show, just before they illuminate all the countries around World Showcase. I love the color reflections on the water.

I had hoped Illuminations would appear bigger from this spot, but they didnt. The perspective and distance thing with fireworks is really hard to get a judge on. I was happy with this one though. Thanks for looking.

だいぶ東京もクリスマス気分が盛り上がってきました〜

Chatsworth House

I had the chance to spend some time over the weekend with some great Flickr photographers and fellow WDW fans including Cory Disbrow, DigitalSLG, LarryW (& family), KikiFL (& Bill), AllerJ, JameeC, DugJax (I'm sure I've missed someone). Great time seeing old friends and meeting some new ones. I rented a few toys for the weekend and as a result am suffering with a very sore back and feet but a great weekend over all; Thanks Cory for pulling it together.

I tried something new on this shoot based on a tip from the master if Disney pyro, Matt Pasant and used a neutral density filter to shoot Illuminations on Friday and then Wishes on Saturday. I don't know that I'll ever shoot fireworks without that on the lense again.

La perspective sur la ville de Foix éclairée est géniale ! J'ai eu un peu de chance ce soir là car il y avait une légère brume sur la ville.
