Pre-war petroleum oiler ...
- My grandfather was such a petroleum oiler before WWII on behalf of the "De Automaat" company.
- After the war it became part of the ESSO company.
- My grandparents lived in a swampy erea, so my grandfather used a non-engined flatboat ("praam" in Dutch) and a dog cart to distribute the petroleum drums.
- My grandfather had to stop in the early 60's, because of the rise of natural "heating" gas.

Special:
- The W136 170 V model was the last design from Hans Nibel, already drawn in the early ’30, now introduced at the 1949 IAA in Hannover – Germany.
- This MB 170 first series was the world's third diesel fueled passenger car and the first to be introduced after the war. The first Diesel production passenger car was a Mercedes-Benz W138 260D in 1936. The Hanomag Rekord Diesel Typ D 19 A was second in 1937.
- Most of the 170 Series were discontinued by the close of 1953. The diesel version persisted until late in 1955 (170 D: 1949-1950 / 170 DA 1950-1952 / 170 DS: 1953-1955, 14,887 units built).
- It has a four-speed manual gearbox, a Bosch Diesel indirect injection system, a 12-Volts electric system, a 39 liter fuel tank and rear wheel drive.
- The steel chassis has independent front suspension, transverse oscillating rear axle and coil springs and telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers on both axles, worm & lever steering, a steel body with rear-hinged front doors and a one-piece windshield and hydraulic drum brakes all around.
- This Diesel version was very popular as taxi, ambulance, etc.
