Il quartiere Castello è sicuramente l’area storica più importante di Cagliari ed il suo simbolo.
Sorge su un cole calcareo a circa 100 metri sul livello del mare.
Fu fondato nel XII secolo dai dai Pisani che lo fortificarono, dotandolo di mura, torri e bastioni e vi trasferirono le sedi del potere civile, militare e religioso dalla decaduta capitale giudicale di Santa Igia.
Al quartiere ancora oggi si accede attraverso le antiche porte medievali, aperte nelle mura che ancora cingono gran parte del perimetro di Castello, isolandolo dal resto della città.

Ende November, mit dem Herbst habe ich schon im Centovalli positiv abgerechnet. Nun war etwas weniger los. Altstätten-Gais ja das wäre etwas, doch ein Kollege meldete den unpassenden Steuerwagen. Was nun? Bernina? Nein zu weit! Oberalp, da war ich schon und mit den Morgenstellen habe ich fast schon abeschlossen. Ach ja, ins Prättigau. Nach der Abfahrt habe ich schnell einen Mitstreiter gefunden. Bis er jedoch im Bündnerland eintrifft kann ich ja mal mein Hchstativ in Igis betätigen. Dort stört nur die etwas lästige Gaspipeline. Ich war ohne wahnsinnige Erwartungen dorthin gefahren und sah, dass es einen halben Mastabstand ohne Pipeline gibt. Dass dort auch noch grüne Wiese, und kein Acker ist gefällt mir. Also das war doch mal ein guter Start. Doch nun weiter nach Malans

La rocca costruita dai Pisani ai primi del '200 a controllo della capitale giudicale di Santa Igia, che presto fu distrutta, fu il nucleo della futura espansione di Cagliari e poi ne fu a lungo il quartiere direzionale. Ancora oggi Cagliari in sardo si chiama Casteddu.

Aan het einde van de middag kort voordat de zon alweer achter de bergen zou verdwijnen, scheen de zon op de fraaie halte Igis uit 1896. De laatste trein die nog met zonlicht passeerde was RE 1753 die met RhB 630 "Trun" onderweg was naar Disentis. Achterop de trein lift een tweetal wagens mee beladen met een wissellaadbak van supermarktketen Coop.

A few weeks ago I saw this splendid example of a male bovine created by Bellart! I own a lot of Bovine in SL honestly this boy is about the finest looking bull I have ever seen.
So a concept was conceived and the 1st Green Acres Rodeo was born!
My 1st preference was to of course to "Bull Ride", sadly my young Bovine friend is a little undersized to properly pull that off, so this is my Plan B, "Steer Wrestling"! I am super pleased even with the multiple crashes just as I was going in for my final frame!
I had a lot of help on this series, Igi Romuśka my Critter Poser Technical Expert. A special thanks to my Barrel Racing friend Tupper Moran for helping with the little details of Ro-Deo-Deoing that only she could do, plus she knows about Jerry Jeff! Thank you very much my friends!
For all the fans of the Rodeo, I will leave the build for a month or so for you all to enjoy!
