Torr Head
One of the Northern Ireland memories that will stick with me most is simply driving along the coast. Heading north from Larne you drive directly next to the sea pretty much all the time, first the Antrim coastal path, then the scenic route to Torr Head via Cushendun (a village owned by the National Trust!) up to Ballycastle and the more touristic north coast spots.
As I assume most people (and tours) cut it short inland the eastern coast is very much for the locals and is no-fuss with food sold out of a trailer but no beach restaurants or similar - basic pleasures!

That Swanage to Poole walk is a day out that is hard to beat!

And here is how it works: Park your car in Poole, close to or at the Sandbanks ferry, and take the 50 bus to Swanage. There, walk up the coastal path to the marvellous Old Harry Rocks. Continue the coastal path, visit the WWII fortifications and have a rest either at Bankes Arms pub or at the vintage Middle Beach Café. Continue along the Dragon‘s Teeth to Studland Bay and its long beaches (beware of the nudist area if that’s not your thing). Catch the ferry back to Poole.
