Little known fact: Jabba the Hutt was unhappy with the condition of his prized possession – Han Solo in carbonite – and ordered bounty hunters Boba Fett, Bossk and IG-88 to make some repairs. You could call it a galactic recall, if you will.

This was photographed exclusively for my "Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy" book. I will post more of these here shortly.

Here are the 2 models combined, hope you like it.

Boba Fett knows his business. His plan is to hijack the carbonized Han Solo from the IG-88, while he is in hibernation mode. As it sounds unbelievable, all droids are like that in this galaxy, they need to rest, too. And yes, they do see dreams, dreams of a new DAS-430 Neural Inhibitor.

This is quite a simple set-up that were first marked as rejected. A few weeks ago, I'd opened the file again and saw it's misty and mysterious feel. Unfortunately, I'll have to let you know, this isn't not quite yet the last scene with the Boba. In fact, I have couple of more, which will hopefully see the daylight some other day.

This is another great scene of the empire strickes back with bounty hunters

Hope you like it!!

IG-88 looking for a company.

I was having a cabin weekend a week ago. During the route on the cabin, there's a big logging site. A moment I saw those dried out trees standing in place like that, I knew I had to use this assassin droid in this scene, as it reminds me one of those dried out trees!

When in Mos Eisley, do not go to the cantina on the first friday night of the month. It's droids only night. Droids have a right to relax too, you know. Thank the maker!

By the way, did you know that IG-88 is really not that mean a machine. Usually on the droids' night, if Iggy can't find a good intelligent conversation (pictured), it hits the karaoke machine and sings it's metallic heart out. Mostly eurodisco and an occasional Burt Bacharach tune.

Now that I think of it, you should try to sneak in the cantina just to hear that...

Lego Star Wars Episode V Empire Strikes Back

This is the first of three photos I took for the Stuck in Plastic Star Wars contest one month ago. None of these was chosen, but, you know, Star Wars legography is not exactly my thing, and there are many many photographers out there much better than me. I know my limits. But I had fun taking these photos... and hope you'll like them anyway. ;-)

He's a little taller than the average minifigure (not shown), and he doesn't hold together as well. But hey, he's IG-88!

Lego Star Wars Episode V - Empire Strikes Back

was messing around with the roller skate piece and thought it would look good as part of a droid head, and then I decided to put this together

Also, the rubber bands are purist for anyone who is wondering (they were part of a klutz lego book)

"I was created to succeed. I have all the capabilities and programming to engineer success."

―IG-88

I have some new builds to show you. I'll start off with this mini-bust. It's the first of three busts that I've built for the Nerdvember2021 contest. I wanted this one to be bigger but I couldn't find any cone parts with the right proportions.

Did you ever wonder how a droid with red lights on it's head could be an assassin? Like IG-88? I mean, you could see a head like that miles away.

Yes, it was a problem. That is why Boba Fett kicked Iggy out from many a missions. "Get out, you red nosed gundark, you!" Boba Fett used to yell.

Holowan Laboratories, what a bunch of clowns.

Seriously, if you put lights on the top of a droid, it's like a lighthouse, it never walks around unnoticed. I wonder if any protocol droids ever managed as rogues and thieves in the night. Those eyes, you know.

You may already know my large IG-88 from 2007 it was time for a new version. This time the model is mainly build in Dark Bluish Gray, has more articulations and a better look and is 40 cm / 16" tall.

. . . Hunters of Gentlemen.

So about a week ago I threw together kind of an old 1940's pulp-adventure serial style version of Boba Fett using the new CMF Retro Space Guy parts.

Then I decided he needed some friends.

Dennis,

Ignatius 88,

Bob Feterra,

Boris,

Zachariah,

and Lombard 4.

These are just for the hell of it, so I'm not gonna go through parts, and I kinda wish I had this idea back when Kaiju Dan's contest was still on. Ah well.

Cheers folks!

Not gonna lie, I think I nailed Zuckuss on this one.

At least the molded head one. That brick-built one weirds me out a little.

Anyways, in my quest to create the perfect Bounty Hunter minifigures, I stumbled across the Mosquitoid heads from Galaxy Patrol (squad? no, patrol) and thought "Huh, wonder what that would look like with the snout cut off . . ." Turns out if you glue a flat stud on it, and paint the crap out of it, it looks like Zuckuss.

I made the parts-based heads for a more old-school version of the duo, and I think they look fine. Kinda weird, kinda creepy, but fine.

Also I gave Bossk a backwards red face mask to simulate his turtle-neck thing.

Anyways, let me know what you think.

Cheers, folks!

My custom IG-88 on its custom base.

Ppfff I dunno guys. I think someone said something about these a long while back. Either way they've been bopping about in my head ever since. I'll just blame Roman.

Bat Vader: Pray he doesn't alter the deal any further.

Batgar: Not even visible in the final film.

BT-88: Lowkey cheated on this one.

Batta Fett: My least favorite of these, though I like the antennae as bat ears.

Batssk: Made him into a bat-creature instead of a lizard-creature

4-BAT: Another fine use of that Thrasher head

Batckuss: Thank god for custom printing.

Let me know what you think. Cheers!

An IG-88 an a Buzz Droid.

The IG isn't super original, while the Buzz droid is my own design. The official Buzz' just were too big for me.

Updated model of IG-11! Super happy with how this updated design turned out. Check out more photos on my website!

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's allow LEGO to be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it. Creativity Never Ends!

Well, besides Greedo anyways. Poor sod.

Did some mild updating here and there, boosted some of these guys up to my liking. The only really notable changes are that Dengar now has white hips, cause I feel like it balances better, and Boba's got red cuffs.

Then there's IG-88, the design for which I absolutely adore. The majority of the design is stolen from @talegophotography on Instagram, with some mild changes. I may post a tutorial on how to build him on my other page, but I figured it out by sight, so it's not that hard to do.

Everybody else has stayed the same cause they're pretty much perfect.

Backdrop is my computer screen, a la Jonathan.

I feel like Bossk is perpetually out of focus.

Man do I love these figs. Cheers folks!

Me and my shady eBay purchases. Heh.

Either way, guess I'll just have to shelve my otherwise perfect custom fig, because this one wins out by just a little bit. The use of the new dress piece is ideal for him. Although I would have thought his head would be made of that funky rubber. I'm not complaining though.

I do feel like he's weirdly missing something, but I tried a pack and a coat on him, both separately and together, and it either made him too tall or didn't look right. But ah well, I'm sure I'll get past it.

Either way, I'm glad to have finally gotten a full collection of scum. And remember kids, no disintegrations!

Here is a group shot of the busts I built for NerdVember2021. I imagine them teaming up going after Leia, Han and Obi-Wan to get even :D (I know that isn't cannon)

One character for every movie in the original trilogy.

Episode IV A New Hope - Ponda Baba

Episode V The Empire Strikes Back - IG-88

Episode VI Return of the Jedi - Boushh

The moment Figrin D'an realizes it was the one night of the month when the cantina was allowed for droids – and droids only. Awkwardness ensues.

This post was supposed to happen a week ago but I seem to have misplaced my RA-7 minifigure. You know how it goes; you know you have it, you know where you put it, but you never find it. This has happened more times than comfortable with minifigures. What's the deal, where do they go?

Oh well, I wanted RA-7 in this scene and I bought a new one. It arrived yesterday. Still haven't found the first one I had.

just a picture i took a few weeks ago with the OG trilogy bounty hunters, you can see Greedo getting shot in the back of you really care for him to be in this.

Maybe next month i plan on getting the UCS Slave I, i'm pretty excited to put it with my 2010-11 (can't remember what year) Slave I.

Also i'm hoping on getting to 300 followers by my 1 year anniversary on Flickr (late february)

L to R:

Dengar

Bossk

Boba Fett: i thought the yellow epaulettes worked well for his yellow shoulder pads, this is the RoTJ version of him.

IG88: Lord Allo's design completely.

4-LOM

No disintegrations! An iconic scene of the bounty hunters on the Executor bridge.

Trivia: If you can name all the characters in the picture off the top of your head, you're a proper Star Wars fan :)

Thanks for all the feedback and comments!

This is the second mech in this series inspired by Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack.

I was reluctant to start this one as IG-88 has been done many times before and I wasn't sure how to tackle it and it stayed unfinished for a long time whilst I worked on the other mechs in this series.

The upper torso with it's space for the minifig and the shoulder joint gave me no end of grief but seeing IG-11 in action in Episode 1 of the Mandalorian helped me realise how he would move in battle (instead of the stiffly awkward way he was portrayed in Empire) and that the important thing was to try to capture this sense of motion.

Anyway, here he is and I'm glad to get this one out of the way haha.

I hope you like it!

They say that a key to succesful popular social media feed is to be consistent. Figure out what your thing is and then repeat that, post to post. From what I can see out there, that is true.

But, you know, I find that boring. Not as a viewer mind you, but as a maker. I love the constant feeds I follow, but me, I can't focus on one thing and just keep pushing that. I envy those who do, but I always find myself wondering; what if I find something different that interests me, should I not post that? Or should I go farther and have a separate account for "different" works?

I guess I'll just post what comes to mind, it's more fun – for me. :D.

I still don't have a place to shoot much anything, but it was a nice weather today and I took this outside. Just a few more weeks...

Uncharacteristic for a droid, after retiring from being an assassin, IG-88 embarked on a soul searching mission to find its place in life. The first endeavour was running a bar by a beach in Naboo. Feeling unfulfilled in the end, IG-88 sold the bar after a few seasons and moved on. Now known simply as "Iggy", IG-88 became a nomad in search for simple joys in life.

Somewhere along the journey Iggy found birdfeeding to be a delight of profound proportions. Traveling from one planet to another Iggy spent long periods of time getting to know various flocks, hordes, murders, congregations, teams, mobs, flotillas, scoops and squadrons of birds all over the galaxy. The birds got used to Iggy, and why not, being a droid, Iggy could stand still for days, weeks, even months so that even the most cautious of species overcame their fear and got accustomed to the towering metallic figure nearby.

This was Iggy's paradise. Watching the aerobatics of the feather-, fur- and skinclad flying creatures was soothing. Iggy took pleasure calculating the dynamics of their flight paths in its mechanical brain. The cold numbers turned into meaningful patterns one could only describe as poems. Clickety-click, simple joys, it was beautiful.

Little known fact: Unaware of the fact that bird seeds from another planet were not supposed to be thrown just anywhere Iggy left behind a big problem with invasive plant species. There were unfortunate mass deaths of birds a couple of times as well. For Iggy, this was not a problem though, being a droid, switching off remorse and guilt cirquits was a snap. Eventually Iggy learned to do this right and always buy local seeds. Everything was good.

Comment !

To be continued ...

There is a rumor making rounds about IG-88 and Bossk appearing in The Mandalorian. Rumors are rumors, obviously, but this sounds pretty solid.

With the new TV-shows on the horizon I was hoping for a chance to see stories with brand new characters, a clean slate. Regardless, I have to admit these gyus are pretty cool.

But, alas, I won't be seeing The Mandalorian next year. The word is that due to EU legislation, the streaming service won't be launching in Europe at the same time it does in the US. There is no estimate about the possible schedule.
