FacesiMake on my iPod Touch
15-30 minutes
From imagination
This just goes to show how contrary I am. As followers of my Daily Portrait Project know, I'll make a face using anything - from dry macaroni on a plate to TrippingFest, an iPhone App meant to draw abstract patterns of geometric shapes in random colors. So here comes an App that's designed to make faces from objects and what do I do? I make other things...
This App is alot of fun and I recommend giving it a try (it's free).
Naturally, though, I have some feature requests...
- Please allow us to resize objects - they're not in correct relation to each other anyway.
- Please allow us to turn objects using pretty standard two finger touch and turn rather than having to grab the ring
- Please make the ring easier to see on dark backgrounds
- Please make it clearer where we need to tap to grab an object - I get frustrated so I imagine kids must get very frustrated.
- Allow us to set a default head and background so we don't have to get rid of the lime green with every new picture
And superuser features:
- Allow us to import our own objects (png files)
- Allow us to import an image to use as the background.
In any event - thanks for this App - I had a good time with it this afternoon.

Man this game is good. I'm only on mission 40 but I've put 75+ hours into it (taking into account that I didn't play it for around a month and a half). The story, graphics (even on the ps3) and the controls are by far the best I've ever seen in a game (well maybe not the graphics, but they're still pretty damn good). This is probably my game of the year on even one of my favourite games of all time (right behind Pokemon Platinum).
So I've had this custom in the works since around the first week of September and man did this guy take a while. I was originally going to upload him around a month ago, but then Brody uploaded his, I instantly had to redo mine because it was shit. I scraped the torso around three times, redid the arms twice and I have around three different versions of the face. The only thing that stayed were the legs, because they weren't that hard to do. Something that I think is cool about my version of Big boss is that the scarf is removable, even through it is sculpted. It's kind of hard to make out but I did also sculpt the piece of shrapnel in his forehead. DD (D Dog) wasn't hard to make at all. I just painted a 2013 police dog white and grey, dry brushed it with black to make it look furry and painted an eye patch onto it. Something that I really wanted to to with this figure was to make the robotic arm removable, but sadly I wasn't able to make it work. If I was able to make it work, you would probably see a variety of bionic arms surrounding him such as the hand of jehuty or the rocket arm.
So what do you guys think? Please leave a comment expressing your opinion.
I should have a picture of Kaz Miller up sometime within the next few weeks.

Thank you to Frannie for reminding me about this fun app! I really like how you can combine colors in different ways in some of the brushes so you can easily build up color/textures and more complex surfaces. I think Vuillard might have enjoyed this app.

Can't for the life of me figure out what app I was using for these collages. Probably 2D or Procreate, but I don't find any evidence in the galleries of either app on my device.

After my struggle with the Linda profile piece I just started doodling on top of a previous doodle in paintbook and then suddenly I was making another drawing when really I needed to be going to bed. Overwhelmed clown probably == me.

JKPP portrait of Jarrett, USA
I was chagrined to realize that although Jarrett has been a member since 2011, and has recently been quite helpful with some JKPP administrative tasks - I don't seem to have drawn him before now. So here's a first go - drawn fairly quickly late at night, which is all my drawing time at the moment.
